I wonder if this could be an indication that we'll be getting some sort of Necron release in the near future. But then again there's definitely, certainly no Necrons on Cadia, so there's probably nothing to worry about. The pylons are just big natural structures and there are no strange aliens walking around Cadia. Nope. Not a single one. Move along.

Necrons do not need any new stuff at all. togeather with chaos demons they are "Alpha Predators" in 40K. The Tyranids and AM should get some attention :-(

Except for better model designs and CC destroyers so the destroyer lord has a proper home.

I think I figures out a good way to do the Ecclesiarchal Detachment where both Black Templars and Sisters players will be happy. Have two core choices, one that is all BT, the other that is all SoB. Then have multiple Aux from each faction. The BT core could be a Fighting Company or something.

I dunno, I can't wait for this to go up for Pre-order so we can get some leaks!

2 years? Plenty of time for a new Pedro Kantor and Captain Cortez model.

Pylons shut down psykers. It would be terrible for psychic heavy armies, especially in conjuction with Sisters of Silence and Culexus Assassins. But, as my brother is making a summoning-heavy Thousand Sons army, I can't say me and my Culexus Assassin are too heartbroken

It could be updated to be less restrictive(plus allow or require Cawl) like they updated the Chaplain+Command squad formation to not require you to take every upgrade.

That aside it's a dang sturdy formation with the masses Canticles. Add Cawl's new Canticle stuff and it's likely to stomp heads.

Here's a problem I've been contemplating.
It's been said a few times that this end times crusade will last for 2 years, we get the first book now in Jan and lets say the last book 2 years from now.

With the rules for the game we'll have 2 years from now will you be able to play the first book?

It's been said no new codicies until 8E (then again we just got CIA) and it's been assumed to be cause of 8E rules changes/simplifications.

Will we be in 9E by the time this crusade reaches it's final destination? and if so would it even be possible to use the first book anymore?

Perhaps the campaign itself is being split into 2 parts.

One part to explain the destruction of everything we hold dear and introduce us to 8th. The second half to wrap things up and 'set the stage' for the direction the story will go. Hopefully in such a way as to kill off all the risen primarchs.

The only way I can see that happening is if there were to be some kind of drastic change to the rules for Skitarii/Cult Mechanicus stuff.

Kauyon, to date, has been the most extensive in terms of these campaign books with the contents of a book present within. And that really only was because we got an overhaul to Crisis Teams, Ethereals on Hover Drones, Commanders got a new option(Coldstar), and Strike Teams(Read: Fire Warriors) got the Turret option and were a rename of the original Fire Warrior concept.

If they upgrade the Convocation to make it a Skitarii Maniple instead of the more restrictive battle maniple, I'd be ok with that

Though i wonder if this is the fabled combination of skitarii/cult mech though that should have been how the codex originally was in the first place

You are most likely witnessing one of the many dutiful priest of the Adeptus Mechanicus, who have recently been assigned to Cadia for completely routine maintenance of the planet’s entire defence system, in preparation for the continuation of everything being fine.

What I gathered from that is there are some necrons on Cadia...and they might be helping the Imperium do something. But, what it is...is anyone's guess...

Patience. Everyone will get something eventually. Also, be wary what you wish for. Remember when Tyranids wanted a new codex? We got a Cruaddace 2.0 codex again. Remember when Imperial Guard wanted a new codex? You got Astra Militriaum. Just look at the mess Codex:Imperial Agents. I am worried for anything new for Tyranids. I would be leary as well for Astra Militarium.

I'd like it if Necrons got something to deal with Superheavies. We could use a GMC C'tan again, even the old Transcendent one isn't that crazy in today's meta of free points, Deathstars, double Stormsurges, and BS5 Warp Spider Spam.

I find it so bizarre that Abaddon still hasn't had a new model after what? Twenty years?

He's supposed to be the big bad of 40k isn't he?
Surprised they don't seen to really care about him that much.

Unless they are flat out killing him off in this campaign I guess.
In which case I guess a new model isn't worth it.

The in-setting Inquisitorial rumour has it that those pylons were part of an aborted attempt at severing the Real from the Warp. Unless we see another retcon, they're not going to be signal beacons.

The pylons were what that aborted attempt was patterned after.

The second book(I can never remember if it's "Malleus" or "Hereticus") is where we find out about Quixos and his Mystic Path flunkies were up to.

Does anyone actually use him in games? or the Black Legion for that matter?

One rumor has him getting a Primarch sized model with the next book.

Even I that's wrong I expect him to get some love about then. Ahriman and Kharn just got updates and this series has a focus on HQ centerpieces so far and not the troops (unlike the Warzone books which focused on more troop models and units).
