So my plans are by the end of this month to have this army ready to play against my buddy for the first time. We are both building 30k armies and so far its been close to a year and we have yet to get a game in. Now, I don't know what he is bringing to the table, but he is playing World Eaters. I'm not at all building my army to face his, but yet I'm preparing as if I'm going to be facing others. (Which I hope to do in the future.) I have other units for this army as well. Such as a spartan, 15 terminators (10 in cata armor) some centurions of various builds. A contemptor with 2 assault cannons. Plenty more troops as well to swap in if need be. Now I don't think a spartan would be wise at this point level, but what are some other unit types or support squads which could help out?

Your first problem is going to be the lack of a compulsory HQ as heralds have the support officer rule.

Other than that its a good list, that sergeant should probably lose the power weapon and take a power fist though.

The herald is cannot be a compulsory HQ choice.
A delegatus would work, as would a cheap praetor.

Why do you have meltabombs and powerfists on the sergeants?
Power-fists are almost always better (for hitting rhinos and characters)

I agree that a spartan would be unwise at this points level.

What is the plan for the contemptor cortus?
It seems oddly equipped. The havoc is good against light infantry, the plasma good against heavy infantry and the meltagun is a tank hunters weapon.

Looks like a decent list.

As said above, you need a different HQ.

Spartan will cost too much at these points , although ots unlikely he will have much to kill it either.

I'd drop the melta bombs from the tac squads (the PFs will do the job) and the heavy support squad (if 8 krack missiles dont take something out 1 mb probably won't either). Also you may want to give them flack missiles if you are.going to face flyerz.

What RoW will you use?

I guess I missed that part with the Herald. I would go with siege master but he won't benefit me at all due to my IF rules granting TH on my heavy support squads. As for the rite of war, I was thinking of just using the standard crusade force. But, perhaps I should take the delegatus. As for fliers, I'm not too concerned yet until I get to 2k+. Then I might just add a fireraptor.
