Greetings I want to make a guard army that is affiliated with Adeptus Mechanicus so that they are not THAT hated by the Iron Hands allies I want to bring. So i wanted to ask if that is canon and possible (skitarii do not count).

Certainly. The Admech and Guard work together regularly. The people on the ground are not exactly buddying up or intermingling as they are incredibly different and things like the AdMech are going to be seen as mysterious and perhaps a trifle dangerous, but that won't harm any operational alliances.

It works within the canon. Remember, the galaxy is a big place, and there's a lot of room for anything not specifically prohibited by the lore. Maybe the Guard company is from a system with a Forge World in it, and is used to working with the Admech to defend the system?

The admech work with everyone in that they supply the weapons and ammunition that everyone needs to fight. The bring the Titan legions that provide the mobile heavy firepower.

They do stand apart from Terra, being half of the Imperium of Man. Their planets and forces fall under a different administration. They have their own ground forces and navy for missions that suit them

Their own forces may not always be enough. If they want to search a hostile dead/xeno/chaos infested world for STCs or archo tech they might be able to do so with one of their explotar fleets but they might ask for IG, the imperial navy or Marines to help.

I can see the admech taking a liking for having IG around. Not likely to ask too many questions and if they do learn any admech secrets they are not likely to live on for very long(humans have such short lifespans)

Not a problem fluffwise. Options:
1. Guard from an advanced world with lots of Admech on it.
2. Guard reguiments that have worked with Admech in the past.
3. Admech worlds themselves. Admech worlds have non skitarii level PDF.

Vostroyan First Born is an example of a regiment meeting both #1 and theoretically #3.

Also thr guard might jump at chance as if your working for them as such, the odds are you might get yourself higher up the list for good gear and armour.

If there equiping a expedition form a forge world or big admech world, may be easier to get a full leman Russ compliment etc, as regiment roster says and such.
