I've got a LOT of spare sprues, from clipping out old bits. What are they good for? And what are they worth?

Which sprues, how old, what bits are left on them?

Empty?

Worth? Not much.

Good for? Anything a stick is good for, or a small square frame.

Empty Sprue value? nothing, useful for customizing things and such, but no bitz, no value.

Thinks Palladium books screwed the pooch on the Robotech project.

That is awesome.

And I've heard they're good for stuff like Dozer Blades and other minor things,

They make decent tank traps, and are useful for priming units that normally go on flying stands, or pieces you haven't glued to the model yet (just attach with a tiny spot of super glue on an out of the way part then rip it off after priming)

Beyond that, some detail work if you really want to greeble up something like the aegis walls or something.

Anyone willing to use them for that is saving theirs though, and there is no shortage of people who will jump at the chance to give theirs away if someone asked for it. You will not be able to sell it.

Makes sense. Sprues are pretty damn common.

Thanks all, for the info!

I don't find them worth much, especially GW's sprues that have a very distinctive shape so it's hard to make terrain out of it that doesn't look like it was, well, made from sprues. I usually just buy plastic tubes when I need them.

I'd throw all my sprues out if I wasn't too lazy to clip all the unused bits off them

Step one: put sprue in old meat grinder
Step two: use ground sprue for terrain.
