Hi all,

I've been an admirer of the whole Warhammer world since the late 80's when, as a young lad, I'd buy the rule books just to read the fluff and look at the pictures. I've had several dabbles where I'd spend months absorbed in painting miniatures and I've been a long time reader of bolter porn and associated PC games but...... I've never actually played a tabletop based game of 40k. I'm now in my thirties and although I've a local Warhammer/GW store - I've never been tempted to get involved in games here. It's a bit awkward as I seem to be a lot older than anyone else in the store (unless it's a parent accompanying their child)....

So, I'm currently putting together an Imperial Fist army and hoping to start actually being part of the community rather than watching from afar.

I'm from the UK, specifically South Wales (well, I'm from Scotland but I live down in Wales).

Thanks
CC

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Welcome! No help since I'm in California USA, but your age fits right into my group of 8 or so! Hope you find some good games!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Hi there! I'm new too!

Hope you find a group you feel comfortable with!
I kinda feel the same about my group. I'm very interested in converting and creating flavourful armies with exciting background lore, but many players around here are just looking to play their cheese lists
I think you will find a lot of like minded, inspirational people here on Dakka, thats why I came here anyways
