Sorry if this has been asked (if so could you post a link to the post). Which is better between Mannfred and Neferata and why, based PURELY on performance in game - not fluff. What are you experiences playing them/against them?

Neferata plus Mourngul seems to trump Mannfreds abilities in most people's lists.

Right now Neferata because of Mourngul synergy. When the Mourngul inevitably goes up in point cost that may change.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

And if someone did not have access to a mourngal would that change who you would rate as better?

Goes up? I hope you mean down. 400 is plenty, and if anything I'd rather pay 300... easier to fit 3 in a decent death list.

Manfred does more damage, due to Monarch of the Night and doing d3 damage instead of Neffy's 1.

Neffy's ability to spawn Vampire Lords which don't need to be summoned (thus not paid for) is fantastic and can run wild against a Hero-centric list. Her Dagger of Jet makes her fantastic at hero killing, as it instant kills heroes left standing on 1/2 wounds.

Manfreds magic and durability is better slightly, but Neffy's command trait is better.

So it's a wash really.

Unless a new FAQ or Errata has come out, this is not correct. You need to pay reinforcement points for any new unit you add during play. Added models to diminished units are free, but can't go above starting size.

Both characters are great, imo. Which is best solely depends on what kind of list you want to build...

I guess you are trying to out-grind your enemy, in which case I would go for Neferata list with her -1 to hit ability. Though, I would remove vampire lord or Necromancer and dire wolves to buy a unit that could throw a punch; maybe add models to your crypt horrors?

I'm honestly not certain here...Legion of Death battalion has never interest me :\

This man is correct, any new unit, or unit that was completely removed off the board and then set up again, must be paid for. Which is dumb because one of the death artifacts means you need to pay double the cost of the model to use.

To many unpainted models to count.

I'm a Chaos player but I can testify to Neferatas potency due to
Her awesome spell making a unit immune to rending values. Coupled with a mystic shielded Nagash or maybe some other nasty model that's amazeballs. At least Chaos gets Belakor!
