A couple of weeks ago, I sat with DRAGONalpha837, who provided me with a general direction of where 40k is now heading.

Keep in mind, this guy predicted the discontinuation of Bretonnia, LOC AND Kairos plastic kit, and minimised Slaneesh products.

Narrative:
Ever since Guilliman's awakening, GW is going to focus on how he consolidates the Imperium through a new radicalised intrinsic political framework i.e. he's going to cooperate with the Inquisition, Imperial Navy, Guards etc. to effectively hunt down "heretics" while combatting on the front lines. Biggest ambiguity here is what Dragonalpha837 meant by "heretics" - at first it seemed to indicate renegade chapters and guardsmen, but from the general description, it appears to be that GW is going for a more "political and cultural revolution" train of thought, where Guilliman tries to combat fear and "ignorance" (again, I'm just quoting what Dragonalpha said) within the imperium through the widespread knowledge(?)

Biggest change in the fluff is how Guilliman is going to treat the xenos. Already seen in the Fall of Cadia, it is expected that we see more "alliances" in the fluff. Currently writers haven't completely agreed how each xenos race will negotiate/deal with Guilliman. In terms of Eldar, fans can expect some level of mutual pact to hold back chaos incursions. Tau (NOTE: Matt Ward is apparently taking part in some of the following books, so don't expect the greatest fluff/rules for some upcoming books) is rumoured to be given an ultimatum to either cooperate with the imperium or else... The rumours argue that Guilliman's goal is to use to the Tau to ward off Tyranids and also counter orks within the galaxy. So basically Guilliman is trying to use the relatively "good"/cooperative armies in the galaxy to fend the imperium. Nonetheless, expect some huge offensives and campaigns by both eldar and the Imperium (to some extent the Tau*)

*Again, Matt Ward is rumoured to be involved in this, so don't expect the best development of the story.

Additional information about the Imperium:
Expect Guilliman to look for his missing brothers - apparently Guilliman finds a huge surprise when he meets with a certain chapter (Dragonalpha tells me that the hints are somewhere in the Fenris book, so I'm guessing Space Wolves or Dark Angels or maybe even Grey Knights (?)) and also finds out there has been a traitor, who's been aiding the chaos forces all along. (Tells me to re-read the Fenris book, says it has something to do with Magnus and Ahriman, not entirely clear what that means). Guilliman also has some trouble with the Inquisition and their methods, and a splinter faction is created apparently.

Chaos: The forces of chaos are consolidating to restart a HH-style campaign towards Terra. Meanwhile, new Primarchs are jumping into the fight (Moration confirmed, Fulgrim "spotted", Alpharius** Essentially GW is trying to go down the HH direction of unifying all chapters/factions into a huge spearhead of chaos (like the End Times). Seems funny though how they're currently planning to release a 40k "Tzeentch" codex (sort of like khorne daemonkin from what I gather). Also expect to see more chaos primarchs soon.

**Alpharius doesn't play a huge role in the upcoming narrative - he's only mentioned upon in the plot. But Dragonalpha also acknowledges that this section of the plot might be taken out entirely in the final draft for future books.

Eldar/Necron/Tau*: Like I said earlier, the Eldar will play a big role in the upcoming books. While some refuse to work with the monkeigh, others factions reluctantly agree. Dragon alpha's not really sure how DE will play out, but that remains to be seen. Necrons and Tau (rumoured) will also appear, but Guilliman is more concerned about the impending Tyranid/Chaos/Ork fronts.

New Products:
1. True-scale marines***
2. Sisters of Silence models and potential codex (released in conjunction with the upcoming Custodes codex; sisters might be given a legitimate codex soon, but Dragonalpha mentions that this will most likely happen next year)
3. Chaos and Eldar: not much to say - last year, the nurgle centurions sculpts were recalled when GW decided to go with the Traitor's Hate route. Sculpts might be used later on, but is extremely uncertain at the current stage.
4. Nurgle great unclean one plastic: Final design still not decided - may take some time before its release

***Larger marines models, GW is debating if this is actually a good strategic move to interest both new and old players. Sculpts HAVE NOT been finalised, base size is rumoured to be 32mm or 40mm)

Yup - GW initially went for the traditional Codex: Chaos Space Marines route, but then they'd ditched it for the current development

Not really, they don't really mention about the upcoming political developments/Guilliman's approach to "fixing" the Imperium nor how Tzeentch is on its way to getting a separate codex. Thought I'd just share the rumours from Dragonalpha

Would have been a lot more impressive a day earlier, is all I'm saying.

Last time, I started a thread about a plastic LOC months before its release. The rumours were almost immediately shut down. This time I tried to make sure most of the stuff was consistent before I decided to upload it. Still doubting "True Scale Marines" but like I said, consistency.

The one where you also posted about Nurgle Centurions and a plastic Sanguinius? From 2015? The one that, rather than being "immediately shut down" ran for over 2 weeks?

Source: GW Insider and DRAGONalpha837 (FW insider)

Confirmed
New Dwarves infantry - and new character model (Fire-Slayer King)
Chaos (Fantasy) gets new kits (Tzeentch focused).
1. New model for Kairos Fateweaver and Lord of Change (similar size to Bloodthirster with multiple options of a staff or strangely mutilated spear/sword)
Slaneesh products will be minimised - not sure if GW has decided to erase Slaneesh from the fluff entirely
Beastmen models to be discontinued by end of 2016
Brettonia also to be discontinued (no confirmed date)
New Elves unit

40k & 30k
Sanguinus model confirmed (Resembles AoS Celestant Prime but more badass with a Greater Daemon Carcass
New CSM book 179 pages
New plague marines (plastic, looks like 40k version of putrid blight kings)
New unit called plague wardens (?) Looks like nurgle centurions
Tzeentch LOC usable in 40k

There was also a possibility of bringing back a renewed version of an old Dwarf war machine with axes. Model design is apparently completed but no confirmations on release

The squatting of The Tau begins. Soon it will be space marines all the time. :( If ward is involved it is going to be the dumbest gak ever like evil chaos Tau or something even dumber. Everything evil rumoured about Tau will be confirmed and then we be crushed to make IoM look cool. Why do I want to give GW any money? They aren't updating xenos I like, no deathwatch releases, no more inquisition, and noble bright hammer incoming. GW has in one week found how to stop getting my money. Assuming these are true.

This has me super-skeptical about wishlisting. With the investment they just made in HH plastics, deathwatch, and thousand sons representing some of the more major recent growth in the marine lines, it seems incredibly improbable that they'd make a new line that's out of scale (therefore also incompatible for converting) with them.

A few months ago there was a rumour one "Loyal" chapter will turn traitor and one "Traitor" chapter will turn to loyal. My guess the "Traitotor chapter that turns is Alpha Legion? I am not familiar with the others. As for the "Loyal" chapter that turns traitor not sure either. I don't really see Dark Angels chapter (Legion) doing it seeing they were there for his coronation.

Exactly. Pretre probably needs to update his last effort in more detail, but one of his current 2 "Trues" is for 'LOC will be usable in 40K.' A fact that's been the case since there have been Lords Of Change.

If there is a traitor in the Fenris books I'm betting it's not a Grey knight. If it was it would be the first Grey knight to fall to Chaos.

Either it's a Space Wolf or a Dark Angel. Somehow I'm leaning more towards Dark Angel.

Also, if there is another Primarch revealed will it be Leman Russ or Lionel Johnson? Johnson is all ready to go, so I hope it's him.

Read the thread that Azrael linked.

This particular poster dumps a lot of random stuff, usually not long after a big rumormonger has commented. They then attribute it to a DRAGONAlpha837, who they have claimed works with FW. There's also usually claims that can amount to fan speculation(see the bit about "a certain chapter and there has been a tratior, who's been aiding the chaos forces all along).

Yesterday Hastings broke his silence to say that there are supposed to be some new Marines, created by the Mechanicus and Guilliman, coming. His insinuations were that the kits would be rather larger than the standard Marines.

But honestly? The biggest warning flag for me to dump huge heaps of salt is the comment about Matt Ward "rumored to be involved in this". Ward has commented, repeatedly, on his Twitter feed that he was back last year working with GW as a freelancer with Black Library.

If I had to guess which I do, traitors turning loyal are likely Alpha Legion, Loyalist turning traitor seems to be something Russ and his wolves would do.

what....no Russ and the wolves are some of the most loyalist primarch/chapter there is

if anything it would be The Lion who is most likely to turn traitor

Going to agree that this is false. First the Matt ward stuff. As has been mentioned, he is freelance. Second if there are new marines coming this year then the production schedule means they have already been sculpted, painted and photographed.
This is all guesswork.

Meh. Unless they do something incredibly cool at the end of this (and I can't think of what that could possibly be), this just feels like screwing around with a beloved setting for the sake of it. If they had just done a "OMG, horrible new threat arises, big G wakes up to deal with it (then preferably gets killed by imperials/vanishes) and we wind up some stories we've never really done anything with like Cypher, here's some new models" - that would be awesome. This sound suspiciously like "we're going to trash everything you love and change it to a bunch of floating islands. With dwarves on kites."

Look, you can go back and see the dates yourselves - but this was actually before anything was released by GW regarding Tzeentch stuff. Last time I posted information given to me by Dragonalpha, there was a huge discussion and essentially the rumour of a plastic LOC was shot down. Sure, people might take this as a pile of salt, some might find it to be an effort to actually provide some better insight into the direction of 40k for a lot of fans. Regarding the identities of the insiders, it is pretty obvious that I cannot specifically mention any names or any specific projects that they were/are linked to without their full consent. Dragon alpha has given me information as long as he is anonymous. Trying to seek any justification in forcing someone to reveal his identity is somewhat over the top for people who collect/play 40k as a hobby. For insiders, they know they're taking some level of risk in sharing the information, but they still do it to help fans out of the dark

Final design was apparently booted and is currently being revamped by Forge World. Haven't seen the pics myself, but Dragonalpha claims that Leman Russ is a "better model" in terms of design, synergy, and popular support. The initial sculpts as I'm told are being re-designed for the next HH book.
