Yo guys, i have no vehicles or real heavy support within my army and was wondering wether a dreadnought would give a much needed wallop and give me some actual threats to the battlefield within 1000 point games
Im thinking either a deredo (cant find them sold anywhere though) or a contemptor but maybe i might want another? what do you guys think
I play DA or Fallen angels

Is it worth picking up, will it give me some help or will be a liability if anything?

It is a very durable, shooting-heavy Dreadnought. Very much worth the investment. I think a Contemptor (Mortis Pattern or otherwise) is also a great Dreadnought.

Hmmm ill have a look between the two dreadnoughts and what i can arm them with (another factor will be cost, The deredeo does not seem cheap) And plus the contemptors look amazing

The quick/cheap approach for a Contemptor-Mortis is the plastic Calth Contemptor with an extra plastic Kheres arm.

A contemptor with two kheres assault cannons and a cyclone missile launcher will kill things FAST. It is also quite versatile as it can handle both massed infantry and vehicles. The added resilience over a normal dreadnought is also quite nice.

Since you stated that you are playing 1000 point games another option is going super-cheap. A dreadnought with power fist, storm bolter, and multi-melta is dirt cheap. It's not great, but on the other hand your enemy just can't ignore it either. Depending on your local meta, that 105 point dreadnought could easily force your opponent to counter it with a couple squads worth much more. Sure, there dreadnought might not make its points back, but that's not really the point either. It frees up the rest of your army to wreck face.
