So...this escalated quickly. My bestie dragged me into the hobby because he wants to fight with little mens and I love painting and modding minis. So I told him I'd play if I could decorate his army as well as mine. Well, he started me off with a box of Guardians ('cuz Eldar are purty), and then....I happened to find someone who was getting rid of their army.

I got all this for $200. Mostly unpainted, which means less to strip before I start my fun. Still some parting lines to take care of, but I'm not too worried, because having everything put together saves me a crapton of time.

I'm still not entirely sure of what all I have, but I've identified the following:

1 Fire Prisim
1 Wave Serpent
1 Warlock
4 squads of Dire Avengers
2 squads of Warp Spiders
1 squad of Dark Reapers
1 squad of Wraithguard
1 squad of Guardians
1 squad of Rangers, +3 extra
Iliac Nightspear
1 Autarch
1 Farseer on a jetbike
6 other dudes on jetbikes (1 of them which may be a Farseer? He's got a spear thingy, but no helmet decoration)

The jetbikes puzzle me, though....I have two different kinds of bikes, and I can't identify the one on the right. Anyone that can enlighten me will immediately gain +3 Respect and +3 Gratitude.

The one on the right is the second generation Eldar Jetbike. The new ones are much better IMO.

Thank you! I had suspected that it was something like that, but I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't going to walk into my FLGS and get eaten alive because I unwittingly brought something that was verboten.

I appreciate your wisdom and your sharing of it! <3

Not a bad price for all of that and got some solid units too.

Easy with the trippy looking background though :p

I apologize. My daughter demanded the Christmas tablecloth and I just gave up because it wasn't a hill I wanted to die on. I'll try to tone it down in the future, ehehehe. ^_~

Picked up my first airbrush today! A Grex Tritum TG3 and matching compressor with its own built in moisture trap. Still learning, obviously, but I primed my first set of Guardians with it, and then gave them their gradient base coat.

My FLGS is THE BEST PLACE EVER. They gave me my Triumvirate of Ynnead free because we were spending so much, but I'm bound by honor to bring them in once they're painted and show them off. <3

My local GW is my favourite place. But they don't give out free triumvirates. I like the gradient, keep going.

I've got a little more done, and I think I know how I am going to finish off all the Guardians (at least), but I have no new pictures to show yet. I did pick up a photo cube on Amazon that will be here tomorrow, so I should have snaps soon!

Haven't been feeling well and this is one of the busiest weeks of the year at work, so that's a couple of whammies to my progress.

I have been slowly editing my fluff/fanfiction/story thing, and I'm having a beta reader look at the first chapter today, so I will hopefully be ready to throw that out soon.

Fighting a cold, but I got most of the army printed last night, and then today was.... Fun with magnets!

I'm not sure which wrappings are the best, or if I'll want different things at different times, so.... magnetizing my Wraithlord and my heavy weapons platforms for maximum versatility!

(Ignore the paint on the Wraithlord. I started him before I gotta the airbrush, and he will be redone with the rest of the army)

Got my other squad of Guardians (and both heavy weapons platforms) and my Rangers base-coated with their gradients, and slapped a coat of wash on them.

The Rangers, because they're sneaky, have less of the light blue.

I also cut out a stencil for my case, and will airbrush my custom Craftworld rune on it, probably in pink and orange.

I have become fully convinced of two things.
1) Airbrushes are cheating.
2) I need an airbrush.

@evildrcheesem, @PossumCraft, @goblinpaladin
Thanks! Took me a good chunk of yesterday afternoon, and I learned a lot. (Start with navy, then do the light blue, and only after that is done should I go back in with the Clear Blue to do the middle of the transition. Clear Blue doesn't cover very well over the darker navy!)

It's still work to get the 'brush control' necessary do to cool stuff, but it's SO MUCH FASTER than wet blending, and the results are a lot better, imo. I highly suggest investing in one, especially if you have a lot of models to paint. I would have given up on the gradient after two or three models if I had to do it with a brush, and the fact that I can prime indoors now....Barrier to entry for me is so much lower that I might actually get my whole army done at some point!

Stayed home sick today and ended up painting. Find up all but one of my Guardians (The last dude has soon and hair to paint), except for sealing. Almost tabletop-ready!

My replacement for my pin vice (that I couldn't find) came today (and then I found my old pin vice, sigh!), So I got to some mod work that was waiting on me being able to pin stuff.

Namely, my female Farseer jetbike mod to match the standing mod I've been working on on.

I don't like the DE heads, and the Howling Banshee bodies don't really for the aesthetic I want for this character, so the answer is a Bones mini.

The guardians look really good,
Is the farseer gonna be the same scheme or slightly different?

@CREEEEEEEEED: Thanks! She's going to be the same overall color scheme, but with more light blue and the pink-orange mix. A brighter stage of the dawn, as it were.

I think I'm also going to do Illic and Yriel in the army colors, but with callbacks to their "canon" color schemes.

Whelp. I'm a klutz. Broke my airbrush.

Was cleaning some dry tip and wiping down the needle, and the body of the airbrush feel and the needle chuck broke. No more threads to screw the knurl onto.

Upside is that I called Grex, and they're sending me a replacement for the part, free of charge. Talk about customer service!

In the meantime, I sanded up the bases for G's Thousand Sons/Tzeench Chaos army, and will probably start putting those together this weekend.

No pictures yet. Toying with the idea of doing video segments of my building/painting.

Got G's Chaos land raider put together aside from some extra Tzeench-y bits that I need to duplicate, and have decided to magnetize his Terminator arms.

Picked up a new needle for my airbrush, but I'm still waiting on the new needle chuck. Weh.

lol, maybe. That or the Tzeench just decided that I NEEDED to do the Thousand Sons/Tzeench Chaos Marines army NOWWWW.

Today, I was supposed to go to a wedding, but my daughter was sick, so...I stayed home and reorganized things. The painting table is now nestled safely in my craft room, and in return for freeing up the space, my fiance is allowing me to buy a spray booth. So the fan/filter featured below on the painting table will be replaced shortly with an actual spray booth...a more elegant and far less jury-rigged solution!

Bet you can't guess what all my hobbies are. (Hint, there's a lot)

I do love me an air brush. Mine is still in storage but now that I have my man cave back I can go on a hunting expedition in my garage to find it. I have to agree your choice of blues are outstanding and well done.
