I thought I'd start a blog to motivate me to get my latest character model to a better standard. I had several ideas on how to make my third troupe master the flashiest space clown I could. Then it hit me....have him kneeing a space marine in the face!
The troupe master is in place with a bit of wire so he can be taken off for painting, the marines backpack too.
So with all that in mind, which chapter do I go with? Ultramarines? Blood angels?
My main harlequin force is purple and white. This guys troupe's third colour is an icy blue so ultramarines don't tie in very well. What does everyone else think?
Sorry about the awful mess the images are in!

Raven guard FTW, to be honest. The schemes compliment eachother quite well.

Yeah more Eldar I like the idea too!
What's the scheme of your Harlies so we can pick a Marine that compliments that.

Id go Raven Guard because I think they're black (?) and that would mean your Troupe Master still being the focus.
Risk with any of the coloured chapters is that the SM would steal focus, I think.

The theme is mainly a purple body glove with a white jacket. This guy will have blue as his third theme as he is leader of the troup of twilight.

Ironhands, black and dark metallics to keep it as neutral as possible.

Yeah sounds like Iron Hands or Raven Guard would be best. I'd lean towards Iron Hands as the metallic will contrast nicely with the non-metallics of the Harlie

I have gone for the iron hands, blue highlights on he armour to tie in with the blue of the troupe masters trim.

A lot of work put into this guy today leaves me at about 80% done. The camera has shown my painting up sadly. It looks alright from 30cm away.
I would love some comments and constructive criticism. Next up is his unit of 5 fusion pistoliers.

A spray of blood might liven it up some
If you could get a piece of thin clear plastic (like blister pack plastic) and cut it into a sort of blood-spray shape, paint it with semi-clear red then fit it in that gash on his chest, it would give a sense of movement and speed to the scene.
