Subject: Mixed Saves how do you do it?

If I have a unit of ten veteran space marines with only 2 having storm shields and the other having just normal bolters how do allocate hits, make saves, and remove models.
Let's say I am shot by 4 lascannons can I take a 3+ Invul save on all those hits? Can I take off the models that don't have the storm shield as casualties? Can I allocate only two lascannon hits to the storm shields since I only have 2 models with them?
Thanks

Allocate and save one at a time. If the Storm Shields make every save you're golden, if they fail and die to the first two then some other guys are gonna get cooked too. You couldn't make a Storm Shield save and then remove a different model, no. Allocate and resolve model by model here. 'Mixed saves' is a 7th concept.
Example sequence:
Lascannon make 4 hits on your unit.
Shot 1 - allocate to Storm Shield - saves
Shot 2 - allocate to same Storm Shield - fails - killed, model removed
Shot 3 - allocate to remaining Storm Shield - fails - killed, model removed
Shot 4 - no Storm Shields left, so allocate to Regular Dude - fails, killed, model removed

Just to expand the example slightly, what if the unit had 2 wounds each?
Do the lascannons roll their damage before you roll saves?
Does the owning player choose the order to apply the sets of wounds?

If you had hypothetical 2 wound dudes: 4 lascannon wounds come in.
First guy makes a save on shield.
First guy fails the next save. Lascannon rolls a 1 on damage.
First guy who is now wounded and MUST tank for the unit until he dies fails another save. This lascannon headshots him for 6 damage. He is the dead.
Second guy makes a save on shield for the final fourth shot.
You can choose who is taking the save (and potentially getting hurt) unless someone is already hurt. Damage is figured out after saves.

So the person that takes the save must take the wound and you can't put it on another model in the same unit?

Correct. You can't have a dude with a shield tanking everything while bland marines die from his failed saves. If he tries to tank, he risks the pain.

Ah, that helps, thanks! I hadn't spotted that damage is explicitly rolled for after saves.
In a slightly different case where you had 2 attacks and 1 does 1 wound and 1 does d6, who decides the order to apply them?

After figuring out that you have two unsaved wounds that deal multiple damage coming in, you simply roll the first, apply, then roll the second, and apply.

Slinky: the player whose turn it is gets to decide all sequencing.
So the shooting player is deciding which weapon is getting saved. Although any particular weapon(s) from the shooting unit targeting your unit should be fully resolved before moving on to a diffeerent weapon(s) from that shooting unit to your target unit(this is more of a convention for ease of acounting).

By RAW you work out the entire sequence hit-wound-allocate-save-damage for each weapon/attack individually. The option of fast rolling only exists with multiple weapons that have the same BS| WS/strength/ AP/ damage so you should never encounter a situation like you described.
