Put a square on it and see how far out of whack it is. Blade and fence should be 90 degrees exact.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Never thought of that  I tell you what though the rivets I cut have a really beveled edge

Square it up, then turn your blade around and try again (or preferably replace the blade!! - don't make me spoilertag!)
. You have the cutting mat on yours, so no gougue like my cheap MDF board.

No should be no real issue their, but the blade bends really easily to easy if you ask me

IS ALL of the blade edge meeting the cutting mat? Or just part of it? Maybe you are trying to cut too big of a stock peice? Start small, like 1mm rod. Look down the length of the blade as it cuts, it should be meetign the mat at a perfect 90 degrees, anything not 100% square and plumb, will give you more unwanted bevels.

All meets the mat but even on 1 mm Rod it starts to slope as it cuts through, its like the blade moves as it cuts.
I really think the blade is the main issue, I use a stopper some time on longer cuts and it still does it

Listen, People...NEVER EVER EVER compromise on sharp blades!!
1. your laziness will be reflected in your craftsmanship!
2. you'll cut your fingers off because you have to apply more force and then it slips!!
3. This should be a grim reminder that Dull blades are more dangerous than sharp ones! Safety First!
4. They are inexpensive and you should stock up whenever you can, avoid REVELL brand hobby knives and blades at all costs, they shatter!
5. Keep an old pill bottle around, cut a slit in the lid, and WHAM-O you have a sharps disposal container Automatically Appended Next Post: LDD, can you grab the handle and pivot the blade (making it NOT exactly 90 degrees)? Or is your steel blade actually bending?

and i second the immense importance of fresh and sharp blades...werever you go...slicing tomatos...cardbord boxes on the job when in the store (looking at you LDD...been there too^^)
and dave...that idea of the dull blade disposer...my hat´s off to you sir for that one... consider it done! that will be my next thing to do...for sure!
and LDD...i think seeing your aperatus there... from what i can see...looks like a dull bladew only... for a quick check of the blades sharpness... use the surface of your fingernail...scratch it over the nail and you feel the sharpness or rather the lack of it... really that´s how professional bladeusers do it!
Automatically Appended Next Post: by the way... done some more milliput sculpting on the knight... didn´t take pics as i didn´t deem it to be worth it... i am still not satisfied with the look...i now want a clean and even surface for my rivets later on to stick where needed... i have to figure out a way how to get that done... just glueing PC over it wont do...not for me and not now... a fitting substructure is needed...

well i have a nail skin remover tool...i know that is not the right thing for the job...but it got some well...mediocre results...i have only ever found paintshapers in a shop hre and they pack a hefty price...maybe i get me some real reasers and try to come up with a self made variant on my own...
well blunt knife...speaks for itself...
my chopers bldes look like just regular razirblades for the ones you do your wet shaving with...maybe that would be a good idea to look in a cheap shop...
