I watched this. A lot of good stuff there, including at least one model teased for every faction (except Grymkin, but they're new). Way better than last year's keynote.

Yeah, this year I'm glad it wasn't just videos.

I mean there are videos, but there are also previews into the
next year of products. Some of this is stuff we've already known.

The entire video goes to about the 1 hour mark.

One of the more exciting things that's not part of the keynote is just the update to the release schedule. October is seeing a Trencher theme box set, which is a pretty cool way to see new releases coming down the pipe if they're done well.

Amazon Alexa. New warroom for it has all the rules, can demo the game and so on. Not surprising to see this. I had been playing around with something similar on Cortana for Infinity and D&D, really easy to interact with the voice queries.

I doubt it's the real reason they got rid of pressgangers though.

It wasn't announced as part of LnL; its just that the regular solicitations went out today for October releases and its included there along with Siege2 and the rest of the Trencher releases. I haven't seen the contents but I'll wager they'll become available as retailers start putting up pre-orders.

I'm sorry. I was being facetious about the "real" reason.

I was in fact referring to Alexa integration with War Room, and I was totally totally kidding.

Kind of. Sort of.

Ooh. I missed the part about boxed sets. I'm guessing to make inventory and starting up forces a little easier?

Or does this make things more difficult for retailers.

I think once people get used them they'll make inventory a little easier. I assume the All-in-One boxes have been a test run for this. Those things are interesting for retailers since they only get one production run (they are literally just boxes that contain the retail packages needed for their content) so its not something you stock regularly. Some people will see that as something they need to overstock but realistically I see them more as a preorder magnet with the option to get a couple more as a new player starter option. I think once people get in the mindset of having a stock of one of them (depending on demand) that they replace when the next one for that faction comes out, it will be a positive thing. It depends a lot on the contents of course, but overall I think its a smart move.

There's stuff all over Facebook. ChainAttackJay has a good number of pics on Twitter. I'm sure someone else has something better, but that's where I've found most things. You can also find the preview videos for all of the announcements on the PP YouTube channel.

Boy, it would be nice if PP had some type of sanctioned internet community where people could discuss new releases and previews.

Apparently they're going to have it open to play on Sunday so we should know more then.

As I was explaining to a friend who asked, this year's keynote
was so long and filled with so much hype for new models by
the end of it (Dire Troll Brawler!) that I have simply forgotten
anything Hungerford said about Company of Iron.

Not strictly L&L related - but just saw this too:

http://privateerpress.com/press-releases/privateer-press-launches-monthly-miniature-subscription-service

Interesting, but I really dislike this. Cranking out a super LE minis each month - buy now buy now buy now.

PP was one company that used to do LE minis right (i.e. - making them available a few times a year during conventions). Every time I start to get the itch for WM/H PP seems to take another step back.

They still do LE minis, yeah. They're better than some companies though in that you can buy any of the previous exclusives whenever there's an event on, and you can get them from the webstore, not just at the event.

They also showed renders from the next faction, the Crucible Guard (Llael resistance I think):

Dracodile:

Heavy Man of War:

As well as loads more I didn't get pics of from the stream.

Meh? Everything they've shown so far is high on the novelty factor and feels more like a creative outlet for sculptors than anything. Seems like a decent way to pull in minis collectors who aren't otherwise interested in the game behind their line, but I'd honestly be surprised if it holds all that much appeal for their existing audience.

It's just jumping on the Loot Crate bandwagon like the pin collection and some of their other west coast ventures. It'll have its fans and a lot of people who get swept up in it until they realize its not really designed for them. If you're the kind of person who loves surprise mystery box stuff... cool. For most people though there are already fine models with these rules attached, and plenty of people out there making interesting and unique models to spend your money on. ::shrug::

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'd wager the Crucible is the faction they mentioned they were designing without Focus or Fury. They apparently have tanks which will probably be heavies.

Quite like their troops with the Rocketeer look, though its a little Freikorps. They've been in the setting for ages though so its cool to see them finally become playable in the game.

I find it kind of interesting that with the time skip we're starting to see higher tech in general. MoW Heavies have some cool/obvious visual nods in that direction, as well as what we're seeing out of Siege2 and the trenchers.

I thought they were Ord actually.

EDIT: Not able to find a lot on them at the moment. All I've found is that they invented firearms in the IK and surrendered to Leryn to Khador without a fight after the Llaelese army fell according to the timeline.

They are an independent organisation, that can tie themselves to a country, but they are still independent. Think Greylords if they weren't part of the Khadoran Government.

I'm not fond of it either. As a non-EU/US player, it means each mini might cost me about 25usd after shipping if I wanted to subscribe

I've heard someone else mention that basically the look has gone from steampunk to weird WW1ish.

Is there any way to see the whole keynote if I missed it on twitch? Twitch doesn't see to have any playback ability.

Only stuff available on youtube is the 12 factions of Christmas and the video on the new models.

That being said - on that video it looks like Cygnar is due a trencher caster (other than Brisbane 2). The picture has a trencher in between a couple of dogs and the trencher has a warcaster backpack on. Did they mention anything about this in the keynote?

There's a Trencher Junior Warcaster coming. You probably saw that guy.

Twitch should let you replay old videos. I believe the keynote was mislabeled though. I believe the link at the top will take you to it.

I suppose that makes sense. WW1 is the natural followup to the Victorian era after all.

That's the Trencher Journeyman, like the normal Journeyman but with different spells.

I got to see the video - from the models alone there are going to be at least 7 trencher solos/units/attachments not including Brisbane 2. Plus that Christmas release. I wonder if that is everything or it they are going to have more trencher specific jacks.

Trencher Patrol Dog
Trencher Express Team
Trencher Engineering Corp
Trencher Commando Officer
Trencher Longgunners
Trencher Lieutenant Journeyman
Trencher Block House

That i a lot of trencher stuff, hoping they don't stink.
