Im looking to field more heavy weapon squads for AM but i want something diffrent. I want an alternative to the normal model, but i dont want to pay $10 for 1 heavy weapon squads. Been looking at getting an old epic shadow sword or warhound to use instead, but wanted to see if you guys had any ideas.

Mad Robot miniatures has nice wheeled frames for heavy weapons. I've been meaning to pick up a half dozen and move my lascannons to them.

I was going to suggest maybe checking out Kromlech as they're nice and my personal choice but their in that 10$ per team range you said you didn't want. Honestly i'm kinda at a loss as HWTs just seem to be darned expensive and its abit of a pain to find all of the weapon types with mortar and missle launcher seeming the least common.
Whats the theme of your guard though, cause that might help pointing you in the right direction.
Heres one of my own lascannon teams thay uses the kromlech weapon

The enemies of Mankind may employ dark sciences or alien weapons beyond Humanity's ken, but such deviance comes to naught in the face of honest human intolerance back by a sufficient number of guns. |

If you'd like to go with Lascannons or Rocket launchers Anvil Industry makes great portable Versions of These. 3 Portable Lascannons + Arms come at 9,04$
You'd just need basic minis of yours for conversion.

Dream Forge was having a sale (at least yesterday) - their weapon teams are dirt cheap at the moment, 3 per box.

Get a box of infantry you like, some 60mm bases, source the weapons (which are all pretty common and/or easy to convert) and then get creative with them. That's the cheapest way that I can think of.

Their heavy weapon team is pretty solid on their own imo.

If you have some spare models and a bit of creativity you could make some out of 1/35 scale artillery pieces. Loads of different manufacturers to choose from and you'll find some at decent prices.
I bought some for my Ork artillery.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples |

I have been converting running teams and prone teams to add some variety (perhaps not what you are looking for) but something different, also allows for kneeling bodies for my regular squads. They are in my Necromundian Guard PLOG if you are interested.
Cheers,
