I'm looking at picking up a few of the Sabre weapons platforms with searchlights to add +1 to the BS of my vultures and scions when shooting against certain units. however, I'm not sure these units get regimental bonus'. Can anyone clear this up?

If a unit has <REGIMENT> you can replace it with your chosen regiment.

If that Regiment has a vehicle ability it would get that ability. Just a simple Keyword situation.

Vehicles almost do not exist as a type in 8th.
If the keyword list includes <Regiment>, and that is all the rule needs to work, it will work.
If the rule only works on <Regiment> and Infantry, it will not affect the vehicle, as it does not have the keyword Infantry.

Addendum to Skinnereal's post:

The original Sabre wording allowed it to work on Vehicles, but in the Imperial Armour Index errata for Astra Militarum it changed the wording to only work on <Regiment> Infantry, excluding vehicles because they lack the Infantry keyword, not because they lack the Regiment keyword.

So I wouldnt be able to use one to say, boost my BS when hitting an opponents LoW?

Oh, you can use it against enemy vehicles, but it does not aid friendly vehicles. So you could light up an enemy LOW with a searchlight to make your lascannon teams or special weapon squads hit it harder, but couldn't do so with Leman Russes or Baneblades or Valkyries or the like, sadly.

Though a Shadowsword firing at an enemy LOW gets a +1 buff to hit innately, if you're having trouble with AM killing one. (Or, more accurately, it gets +1 to hit vs. Titanic units, which doesn't mean every LOW. I don't think Guilliman is Titanic, for example).

Not entirely correct. VEHICLE is all over the Astra Militarum Codex, and also note the ASTRA MILITARUM VEHICLE requirement on the Jury Rigging stratagem. Regimental Doctrines also reference Infantry and Vehicles separately.

Vehicles might exist elsewhere by virtue of omitting other keywords, but for the Astra Militarum it's relevant to mention vehicles since VEHICLE is a thing.

All true.
What I meant was that the old way of thinking, vehicles having HP and facings and such, is not in 8th. Vehicles and Infantry in 8th only really differ by keywords now.
I get told to use 'my words' more. Oh well.

Note that faction-specific vehicles like those for Krieg for Elysians do not have <REGIMENT>.
