Subject: Blood Angels 8th Tactica - For Sanguinius
This might sound really stupid but if I used the Hellfire Shells stratagem and then used the armorium cherub would my heavy bolter essentially get 2D3 mortal wounds or would it revert back to normal heavy bolter rounds?

In the games I've been playing I've been dropping inceptors in to clear chaff units to then push through with my strong melee units. I also deploy my own scouts reasonably early to stop my opponent putting their own 'infiltrator' esk unit in the way, it doesn't work so well during the deep deployment types but it helps with the shallow ones 12" ones.

Has anyone had any thoughts about adding knights to their blood angels lists? I'm tempted to add a free blade gallant for added melee punch and a bid distraction unit at a reasonable price.

I wish my Rhinos came with 2 multimelta, 2 assault cannons and 4 missiles!
However generally I find them too expensive to fit them and everything else I want into a list. Especially as my friend group now plays 1750 points.

Look guys, a lot of us love BA for the sake of loving BA - let's find constructive ways to use the tools we have, rather than gripe about what we don't. I get it - we aren't Aeldari or Tau or whatever the new hotness is, and the GW nerf bat seems to over-target us. But let's focus on cool, viable builds like that VanVet, SS and LC build or ways to use our mobility in conjunction with a firebase to be competitive, if not overpowering. What are some unit combos that have been effective?
I for one, have found a firebase of a cheap captain, ancient, a deredeo with the pavise and either a full 3x5 or 2x5 chunk of hellblasters to be a darn near impossible brick of a firebase to move - with some decent mobility. And you get a CP for fielding it! Solid anti-tank or anti heavy infantry. Yea - not as good as DA, ok, but with my sang guard bouncing around them, the enemy had a tough time prioritizing targets.
I could see how adding some SS VanVets bouncing around the table would make for some tough, mobile units in addition to a tough firebase. That could be a pretty killer combo. Anyone else have something constructive to add?
I enjoy my deredeo as well. Particularly against units with invuns where the ap isn't important. Hitting on 2s re-rolling 1s with that amount of S8 shots is very handy.

What are people's thoughts on TLLC and CCW dreads now after the points drop? Can either waddle up the field with 2 lascannon shots a turn or sit with a castle offering decent counter charge potential (4 S12 Ap-3 flat 3 damage) all for 132 points.
Probably not going to rock the super competitive world but then if you're playing blood angels you already know that.

I find the most effective way to run devs is: x1 lascannon, x1 plasma cannon and the either a heavy bolter or missile (I normally run 2 squads one HB one ML for 4d3 mortal wounds). Plasma cannon isn't over heating thanks to +1 to hit saves points and is as good as a lascannon in my findings at least. Could be worth a shot and save some points?

Just wondering how Blood angel Primaris forces fare?? With a lack of combat units I'd imagine it's quite tough to field a decent hard hitting force without old marines??
My biggest issue with my primaris marine blood angels is that they're essentially inferior codex marines with the scattering of unique little marine characters/units.

Here's my first attempt at Blood of Baal + CA for BA. (I'm really trying to make DA/BA work though). Any comments are more than welcome. I chose to skip DC, as it'd be a shame not to include lemartes + astorath. And then I want captains for relics/wlt and I also kinda want sanguinius. I chose vets and SG. I'm looking at no OW from the suppressors or the relic from the captain.
Oh wow. There's that. They only get doctrines when they're pure BA? Like, I can't even ally in an admech spearhead? Uh. Anybody feel like it might still be worth the trade?
If you ally with other space marines from codex space marines you keep doctrines but you'll have to wait till the end of January for Dark Angels. They're in the next psychic awakening and they'll inevitably get the rule there, same as we did in ours! Otherwise I think Doctrines do make our army much stronger.
