Something that kind of bugs me with the Chimera kits - no good place to stow an HK missile. Ideally it would be on top somewhere, but it either will not have room without crowding something else, or it will block the turret from rotating. This isn't a problem in 8e because you can shoot your heavy bolter out the back of your treads if you need to, but bugs me from a modeling perspective.

Thought about putting them on the sides but that also doesn't look quite right.

How have you all been attaching them?

What? Non sense, you can put the HK missile on the hull, check my cadian or steel legion gallery for examples.

Cannot stand the HK in the Guard accessories kit.

I've either used the Space Marine vehicle one or a modified heavy weapons team missile launcher on a pintle mount off the turret. That said my Chimera all use Predator turrets so more space to use up.

I watched that clip and laughed the whole way through. I can just imagine what it`s like with the even MORE beaurocratic Imperium.

Spoiler:

I've been meaning to watch that movie; I did an article a while back for a roleplay game, so that vehicle could have some in-game stats.

So it did not occur to me that I was thinking about the Accessory Sprue version - the one that looks like the Malyutka - rather than the slimmer one on the Chimera sprue.

It is; got a close up of the one on the right? From the missile side, preferably.

I'd cut down the missile and the launcher and mount it on the barrel shroud. (ala Russian IFVs, etc.)

I did try to perch it on the heavy bolter, but it looked goofy. That's where I'd put it for the autocannon turret version I'll have eventually, though.

It may be easier to do a Konkurs analog instead. There's space to the side of the top hatch that can accommodate a brass rod topped with a modded infantry launcher.

Place a rider with a missile launcher on top until you fire it. Remove him when done.

I cut down the base to just a narrow strip right in the center, glued a piece of a flat refrigerator magnet to the bottom and a matching strip of steel (cut from a soup can lid) on the narrow ledge where the sponson bit stands out from the track. Remove it after firing.
That said I now think that old bit is pretty crappy looking. I think I have some Sidewinder missiles in the bit box from an old fighter kit that might see use.
Plastic model kits can be had really cheaply if you search EBay and don't go in the hobby stores for them. You could probably pick up a jet kit for a few bucks and get four or six missiles.
