It has been announced that in the new Thousand Sons Codex that players will be able to use some AoS models such as the Tzaangor shaman and the Mutalith Vortex beast. While we already do have a good number of model that are shared between the games, the entire daemons line for one, it got me thinking about what other AoS models could work in 40k. Two I can think of are if they ever create an Exodite line many of the models in the Sylaneth line could make good equivalents to the wrathbone constructs of the craftworlds and the giants could work as mutants for the armies of Chaos. Thoughts on any others.

Blightkings are only a few easy conversions away from functioning as pretty believable Deathguard.

Orks. Or Space Orruks if you will. It would be very easy to make the shootas and powerklaws a weapon option on the sprue.

Kharadon Overlords could. Just put out a conversion kit that adds more guns and they would make for excellent squats.

I am honestly surprised that they have not done more crossover models

Mortal followers of Chaos - most of them could be used with or without a guns upgrade sprue - see Arcanties. Smae with Ogors, primative versions could be either in Imperial or other service.
Orks have primatives in fluff - Snakebites

As noted Overlords are pretty much Squats

Sylvaneth could be some new Tau Auxliary race or something to do with exodites

Witch Elves - Wyches

As an interesting reversal on this having 8e 40k rules for some AoS models could provide a starting point on deducing how you could port more of AoS to the 8e rules.

Back to the original question most of the newer elves could be worked into 40k as Exodites, a lot of Death (especially the ghouls) would make a sensible zombie-based Nurgle army with minimal work, and Skaven are a ready-made abhuman Chaos cult running the Forge World Traitor Guard rules.

Sigmarines aren't perfect Custodians, but they could be an interesting source of conversion parts for them. And I did try using some Judicators as Tzeentchian Obliterators once (on the logic that they're possessed/animated constructs firing explody magic arrows).

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.
