Hey

I recently stripped my old metals, got rid of the old plastic arms/shoulder pads and weapons.

I always noticed that the 2nd ed plastic hands/ fists where bigger than the minis actual head size
So this time round I have opted for newer plastics

First time pinning too, the smaller hands suit the old minis

They are staying ultramarine,

Once I get paints sorted and clean up all the metal I may start a blog

Here’s another one

The pilot has been replaced with a helmet less ravenwing pilot, which I think looks better

I love the old landspeeder. It looks 10x better than the new gakky one. However, it is a nightmare build. I really wish they had just brought the old aesthetic and done it in plastic. I've seen some people convert them and they look pretty good - the resin Forgeworld ones from HH look pretty swell.

The current (read: 2003-now) plastic landspeeder is just one ugly piece of gak.

Can't wait to see what you do with the beautiful metal one.

PS: I really miss GW's older attention to detail. Note how cool the pilot figures are for the landspeeder - wearing special custom "pilot" Space Marine armour with a special helmet, breather, etc. GW rarely bothers with that anymore.

This one, just the way it is (with an added gunner's gun mount) would make a fair go at the first model or 30K version. I like it as is.

I was going to do them 2nd ed brightness but possibly darker like 3rd

The pilot and gunner both have breather pipes, the Armor is regular mk7 with the same quick release harness the jump packs have,

I took this pic a while ago, 2 stripped assault squads with proper JP's

No idea how to do the osl on them because of the 3 jet exhausts
