G'day,

I recently assembled and painted a forgeworld resin model and then realized (i know this aint smart) that I had glued the shoulder pads on the wrong shoulders.

Now I spose the question, is there a way to switch them around without completely destroying the paint or model (superglue on resin)

Cheers!

Depending how much glue you used and how you prepped the model, it might be possible to pop them off with minimal force. Beauty of superglue is it is usually quite easy to separate.

Alternating having the mini in the freezer and at room temperature can weaken it making popping them off easier.

And the freezing wont damage the paint job?

I think if you do manage to remove them, there will be some work to redo on the paint work regardless.

Put the model in the Freezer for about 30 mins to an hour. Then the glue will be brittle, should be easy to pop off. Depending on where the glue seal is, it may pull some of the paintjob off, but your gonna have to do a little tough up anyway.

If you used super-glue it's pretty easy to understand how to remove.

Superglue is strong in shearing but not in rotational forces. The long crystals are responsible for that. SO grab it and twist. The long crystals are also subject shock damage so a drop with a sudden stop can knock em loose.

If you used epoxy... it's forever.
