10 years ago now I got the old realm of battle board from GW. I painted it to look like a desert (Basically the color of that Agrellan Earth paint) with grey rocks and rather like it as a setting for battles. I have always thrown some buildings on it and called it a day but now I am really interested in the fluff while battling and I want to make some scenery that'll be suitably 40K with that as the backdrop. I considered finding some sector mechanicum tiles to attach to one end and have a wall of some sort separating the two.

How have you used this board in 40k? Bunch of rocks and call it a skirmish on the outskirts of some city? Ruined buildings being swallowed up by the sand? Please inspire me to create!

Some air scrubbers that try to capture moisture and store it. Makes a good objective for thirsty forces.

I recently refurbished a set of Realms of Battle boards, more of a temperate swamp color palette than your desert. I'm kind of a fan of MDF scenery kits. There's a huge variety, including some desert themed ones. I'd say go full Mos Eisley with a mix of rustic desert and high tech architecture. I'm working on a series of bridges and towers (from Promethium Forge) to make the most of the existing two-level RoB boards. Check my P&M blog if you want a look. I'd love to see a photo of your set up!
