Subject: Does super clean lose its efficacy if you take models out of it?

Hey folks!
I've been soaking models in Super clean for a couple of weeks to strip them and break glue bonds (overkill), then put them through an industrial ultrasonic cleaner of superclean (less brushing). If I take the models out of the superclean and ... let them sit out, or in a waterbath (so I can empty the ultrasonic cleaner and clean it out), does the paint/primer re-harden? Do they need to stay soaking until I am ready to scrub them?

My experience is that softened paint stays pretty soft. It might go a little tougher but in the short term (days, not weeks) I've noticed no issues.

How often do you change out your superclean? Mine's pretty milky looking from dissolved paint - I have no idea.

I've used the same batch of Super Clean to strip models several times, so it doesn't need to be changed every batch, but nothing lasts forever. I guess it depends how much you dilute it in the first place.
Suspended particulate shouldn't affect how well it works, though. Probably even old Superclean will strip models if you leave them in long enough, and if you're using an industrial ultrasonic, then you should get a lot of use from a single batch.
Though if you want to break superglue on plastic models, putting them in the freezer would probably work better.

I'm less interested in breaking the superglue; that's a side-effect. I'm trying to get off paint and black primer so I can strip these things and reprime them white. I'll leave the suspended particulates and run another batch. =D
