A warring contraption of the Emperor. This is one of those miniatures that you could work on basically forever, but since I actually have a schedule I went with a tabletop-ish level of work, it took me a weekend to paint. The Castellan easily ends up looking like a toy due to the miniatures design to my eyes, so I went with a blunt, dark look. On the ground, the troopers, or at least one of them, has gotten a dose of newfound hope for their desperate situation. With the flag I used different shades of red in order to make it stand out and look like dusty worn cloth. The weapons are magnetized in case I decide to get the Valiant pattern bits at some point.

It looks amazing the weathering looks really well done and I am a big fan of the black and red color pattern.

well done painting wise, the pose looks too static for my taste, idk if the legs are able to be posed more(my valiant is still on sprue) to a bracing stance or walking one, the standing straight upright looks weird imo.

Yeah, I guess it's up to taste indeed. I went with a similiar pose that the larger titans have in a lot of artwork. The reason being that to my eye, the Castellan as a miniature easily ends up looking like a toy, especially if painted in certain ways. I counteracted this with a blunt and dark color theme and a "as heavy looking as possible" only slightly mobile pose.

Small pseudo update. I didn't like the original sensors above the meltaguns, so I used some bitz to make new ones. Also added some final touch ups, now I can call it ready.

While doing this I also painted 1400 points of Imperium into a basecoat level, so readymade stuff should follow soon.

Awesome. Very nice job on the weathering and the plasma gun looks great!

Thanks fellas. Some progress, finally. I did 1400 points of Imperium to go along with the Castellan, and now got to begin the "finalization" round for the army.

Angharad 13th Death Worlds Only

These guys took around 4 times the effort of painting a single titan even with the tabletop level approach. The mortars I got from Anvil Industries, the heads from Kromlech and the shell caches from Puppetswar. Not the cheapest setup, but I'm pretty happy with it. I assembled the dudes separately, because you never know when the meta/rules shift, and of course I can now manifest a squad or two of infantry if I want to leave the launchers home.

Very rewarding. I just completed 99 points in 4 weeks, and at the start of the match they're going behind a wall, out of sight, anyway...

looking very nice there. i especially like the pale skintones. makes them look like true deathworlders, and not ordinary "healthy" humans. The highlights on the cloth is also very nicely done.

These guard are awesome! Love the edgy aesthetic/dark scheme. Is the idea that they can double as loyalist or traitor?

I didn't think of it that way, but these guys could certainly be played as the bad guys as well. Some of them have parts of their heads and faces fixed with machinery. With this I wanted to further bring to life the Death World veteran vibe. Will have to see, the latest Vigilus book already included named traitor regiments, I got a feeling a Codex is on the way, or at least a WD Index.

Thanks everybody. The mortars are indeed by Anvil Industries, and they look great. Here's a Wyvern I finished, it's been waiting to have final touches done for over a month now:
