So I'm going through my collection to "thin the herd" and cutting my Windriders in half (had 12, only really want 6).
I want to give my remaining models so High Elf spears mainly for aesthetics so that all my bike have CC weapons, but also so they can be WYSIWYG if I want to use them as Shining Spears.

So I want to put the spears somewhere on the bike itself ("holstered" via magnetization or something), but I'm not really happy with the options.
Of which, there really only is three:
A) slid under the canopy, which would be pointless as I want them to be visible
B) sticking up behind the rider, but this will make them impposbile to put in their case as-is
or C) attached to the canopy just above their leg, under the bike handle

For reference, these are my bikes right now:
Spoiler:

Any thoughts or alternate suggestion would be welcome

I used a wind rider arm to hold a self-made spear for my metal-banshee to Windrider-Autarch conversion. Just cut the hand at the wrist (easier due to armour ridge) and glue it back on turned about 90 degrees.

Galef,

I suggest two possible solutions:

1) Do something similar to Stephanius's suggestion and place the spears under one arm of a rider like a small lance. The old bike riders arms can be fashioned to do this.

2) Make a harness out of very thin plasticard and have the spears dangle just off the leg of the rider...making it look like the rider could just grab the shaft if they need to.

Hope that helps,

CB

Thanx for the suggestions!

I think I'm going to make 4 of my WRs actually hold the small spear. It'll be tricky as their arms are already glued in place, but worst case scenario, I have to chop off the handle on that side (if it's too stuck to the hand)
But since Shining spears don't have both handles, that's ok

For 2 of them, I have spears that don't actually have hands and forearms attached, so they can be "holstered" just under the canopy and over the rider's thigh.
I'll have the spear tip pointed backwards just behind the rider (just so it's visibly a spear and not just a stick pointing out of the canopy)
Those 2 in particular have Scatter lasers underslung, so this would be a further queue to show them as just Windriders when I use them as such*

That ratio of 4 holding the spears and 2 holstered should make it viable as either Shining Spears or Windriders with regular CC weapons.
*And for those concerned, I would not be mixing them in my lists. These will either all be Windriders, or all Spears. I have 5 other models that can be a unit of Spears when these are used as Windriders
