Trailor is pretty cool, septetmber 19th 2019 approx. The final part, last blood.

Much as so many remakes and sequals, good old fashioned brutal action movie. Not as fancy as John wick or so but no one exactly watched it for being subtle.

Also. Bad guys. Do you ever check your records lol?
You piss off the one guy whom most likely to start a small war, win it, or die sourounded by bodies taking making the price extremely expensive.

To be honest, the last Rambo movie was actually quite good - the one in 2008 or what have you. I assume this will be another 80's style gory actioner, and I am good with that.

Yeah, it's not fancy, it's not slick like John wick or so. But who cares. You Don t come for fancy. You come for over the top action, alot of explosions and so.

Never gonna win a Oscar or so, but there overrated to say the least.

Rambo was frankly superb. That last battle scene, with the big dakka gun (50cal? I dunno) cheered me right up.

And it pulled no punches showing the brutality the Karen people face. Was quite the piece of cinema, even if it was ultimately really quite daft.

The last Rambo film was exactly what I need on occasion. It's also the only film to make me laugh out loud at the amount of violence on screen.

It was unfortunately mostly ruined by the absolutely awful "group of mercenaries" who apparently had shopped at an airsoft store...

But the rest of it was amusing and enjoyable. I'll see the new one as a "goodbye and thank you" to the ole guy himself.

Make something new you hack frauds.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Rambo 8, actually. Rambo 7 would be his battle with an exposed intestine and a bad case of swamp-ass.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

As a hardcore take on the Vietnam war, tracking Rambo's journey from 'just a bloke' to 'war scarred veteran' - that's got legs, if done right.

I guess the only real decision is did Rambo enlist, or was he drafted? Which might better show the horrors of war? I'd say possibly the former. Someone who willingly signed up for 'King and Country', only to be discarded once his role was played out. The whole 'you're going to war whether you like it or not' just seems too low hanging fruit to me.

"Young Rambo" can be a hard film to pull off though. Typically when you've a series built on a mature, experienced and power character it can be very hard to dial it back to earlier in their life.

See original fans of the style of film are looking for Rambo just in a younger body; so doing all the insane stuff his older self was doing just with a younger actor and body. Meanwhile the actual story would be likely looking for an inexperienced, more innocent, less of a leader more of a follower, less confident individual. Ergo a normal person growing up and gaining experience, making mistakes etc... Ergo someone who is totally different, yet holds some of the characters personality that steadily grows as they mature through the film(s) into the new mature version of themselves.

Course Rambo could be done slightly later, an experienced soldier starting the film at the peak of their performance whilst still mentally stable and sound; only to have the film events play out to crush them down. Breaking down the person more and more into the bitter and broken Rambo that we see at the start of his original films. Skilled and powerful, but having lost his will to fight for his country and flag.

I loved the scene in the last Rambo movie in which the missionary finally learned the error of his pacifistic ways when he whacked a soldier with a stone. Truly a cathartic moment for the fella!

Also when there going only boat man, eh, then the quiet monster comes out and goes from calm, I want my peaceful life to switch to Rambo, one man army mode and then proceeds to take command and wipe out a small army.

If you're new to the franchise just be aware, the first film is nothing at all like the second and so on. So just be aware. It went from a grittier semi-serious movie to over-the-top-action franchise. So just be aware, lol.

Ah, I remember that one. It went like this:

A bunch of sadistic soldiers force captives through a minefield and bet who will survive the ordeal. The captives make it through and no one got killed. Sadists are furious while the mercs are hiding and doing nothing.

Merc 1: "What can we do?"
Merc 2: "We can´t do anything."

Rambo enters the scene and takes each and every scumbag down with his bow while putting Legolas to shame.

Then you missed out on the greatest movie franchise there is. Heck, even an entire faction of GW´s toy soldiers are centered around Rambo. In addiiton, I can´t understand people who don´t collect Catachans. 80s action is simply best action.

First Blood was good, though not great, but after that it was a very different series that didn't really do anything for me. Admittedly I never saw the 2008 one. I liked the book First Blood better than the movie but ymmv.

The book swapped perspectives between the chief and Rambo and you get where both are coming from and neither is portrayed as a hero/villian. In the movie when Rambo goes on the run he injures most people with one death being sympathetic whereas in the book he just straight up kills all the cops and people he comes across. The Col. was in charge of the training camp and never directly met him or knew and the chief is also a vet but from the Korean war. Rambo also is all bushy bearded and vagranty* which is why they try to shave him in the book whereas in the movie he is pretty clean shaven already so it doesn't make as much sense except to make the cops seem like masochists, which in the book they are portrayed as decent guys you get to know a bit before they are offed.

*That is my word I made it up you can't have it.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I enjoyed the book as well. In the book, Rambo is not sympathetic. He's comes off as: 1) looking for a fight; 2) Just this side of mad dog crazy; and 3) a real killing machine with an almost SS level superior mindset when wacking people. Imagine the kill count of Rambo 2, but instead of EVILZ Soviet and NVA troopers its simple beat cops and people. Trautman is just there to waste him if has the opportunity and is pretty arrogant too. The good guys are really the sheriff and the cops.

And there you go.
