Unfortunately, yes, KS comments are already full of "yes men" fanbois with blinders on who shoot down any concerns or warnings by belittling those who raise them.

But that's true of any KS really. It's sad.

It is. I mean, if I was being insulting I can understand, but I was literally just posting to people to be aware of their past history and getting grief.

Yep. And it's only sad when it's *your* money on the line!

I already have too many high-quality miniatures in the painting queue, the game closet is filled with good boardgames I haven't played yet, and other KS publishers have both integrity and stuff I want.

There's no need for Archon. If they pull another shell game and leave backers hanging, KS has long past the point where we need anyone to be convinced that there are still good companies out there.

But if anyone finds a Vanguard link on BGG, let us know so we can post info about Archon there.

Happy New Year to all our customers and especially to those who have shown great patience over the last 12 months. Let me start by saying that Radio silence has been ongoing due to background work and ongoing delays. I already mentioned that I am taking a small step back from the AVP KS for the next while due to personal commitments. This does not mean that I am forgetting about the project but that instead I’ll be looking to manage this from behind the scenes. Prodos Games Marketing team will be looking after all new updates. I and Prodos games are committed to completing this KS as soon as possible. In saying this however, we have hit a few problems with the clear resin and therefore the approval on this item.
Essentially the compound that we originally intended to use was pulled as the supplier couldn’t get us enough. Then the EU decided to ban our alternative on health and safety grounds. We value the health and safety of all our staff and customers and while this ban has led to further delays, we are happy that this product has not hit the shelves in the format intended.
A 3rd alternative is available however due to the low pull count, the resin destroys the casts too quickly.Because of the amount of wastage and low pull rate along with the low numbers of orders currently in our system we’re going to take the hit and use this option to manufacture the clear fempred and beserker in resin. This is a real lose/lose situation for us. Note that because of the wastage involved in this process, this will result in further delays for some backers. This is unavoidable.
Right, that’s the bad news out of the way, what are we going to do, is this the end of the invisible predators? Absolutely not! Well we’re pushing ahead with plastics! That’s right, you’ve heard it here. First up we’re looking to create the predators in clear plastic.

On top of that, if we get additional orders on the clear fempred and beserker we’ll move these over to plastic also. This should drastically increase our production speed.

The next piece of news is that the Beta rules for AVP: UNLEASHED will be released on 15th Feb. We understand that some of you feel that THB rules were rushed out and therefore we’re giving YOU the opportunity to have your say on the rules before they go to print. The playtest team have been hard at the rules and I believe they’ve had 7 if not 8 different versions of the various forces so that they feel that the forces are just right for deployment. I look forward to seeing the comments on these lists as having played them myself they certainly compare well with the other forces in Warzone. Here’s a little preview of the rules:

We are aware that a number of you are still waiting on items from your AVP Kickstarter.
The warehouse team is working flat out to correct these issues and, in some cases to avoid disappointment, we are waiting until all individual components are approved and accounted for before shipping out.
Yes this is not ideal however we feel it is the best way to ensure everyone receives the items that they have ordered and ensure that mistakes or errors are minimised.
This year is shaping up to be a good one and I’m looking forward to visiting several gaming conventions so I can see meet and chat to you, the fans and KS backers. We are determined to get this KS into your hands as soon as possible and while we have had several setbacks just before the holidays we’re sure that you won’t be disappointed with the end result.

Dunno. In general, BGG'ers don't have an interest in wargames. I've yet to read a BGG post recommending Warzone, or any mention of it outside my posts saying no one on BGG mentions it..

I think BGG AvP backers were expecting a new *version* of the AvP *boardgame* rules, not a subsumption of a boardgame into a wargaming ruleset. Obviously, wargamers probably wouldn't have a problem with wargaming rules, but *boardgame* backers of AvP might.

I forgot to mention that the review says you cannot (yet) play a 3-player game with the new version of the rules -- such as Aliens vs. Predator vs. Marines.

I'll go like this, Beasts of War promote a Kickstarter, people back because negativity is unwelcome there, those people are later dissapointed they don't get what was promised and are told well it's Kickstarter you're not entitled to anything.
Warren will then have some kind of rant about how customers are the bane of the industry or something along those lines as "we simply must look our best for Pepsi Cola"

i just received my wave 2 kick starter items after like 2 years of waiting. got all of them nothing is missing, nothing seems broken. got even free ks items (royal guard, face huggers, berserker). i have to say that the quality of the minis has improved a lot!

what i dont like are the cards. small white font with black outline just doesnt work guys. you should keep it white.

if you are asking me than no. all i got were basic minis from the wave 2. no clear predators / rulebook or alt sculpt marines.

... and I got my box just this morning ! It's smaller than I thought, but quite heavier, and those minis are seriously good.

Edit : Ok, think and say what you want about Prodos, but those minis are wicked good. The tiles are great too.

The tiles are awful in my opinion. Way too repetitive and plain. The three ammo crates highlight what a lazy job they did on them.

Only thing I dislike about the tiles is the repetitiveness.

The Warbook ain't done yet, but it is Very Close to being done in digital form. Still no ETA on the clear predators or the other marines yet..

Listen... I really do feel for you guys but this is hilarious in a sort of patheric, sad, gallows humor sort of way. Leave it to Prodos to finally ship some long awaited remaining rewards to backers years after retail release largely because they literally won't be able to sell it after an upcoming edition revamp announcement makes it obsolete. Only Prodos would treat their most loyal customers like a dollar store clearance product dump. Well, maybe not "only" Prodos... Palladium would definitely do that if they could afford to.

Don't worry though, guys, because Prodos has you covered. You can buy an upgrade pack to make your newly arrived or yet to arrive edition less obsolete for only $21 plus shipping on top of the cost of backing the kickstarter which cost you more money than waiting for retail frequently and took year(s) longer to arrive.
