So, I'm still trying to learn Blender better. But I think a cool project would be a Chaos Knight. But I don't want to just RECREATE a Chaos Knight. I want it to be custom. So what are some general design thoughts that might make a cool, individual Knight?

My initial idea is to make it a quadruped, perhaps with a turret on its back.

What about going for one of the really old paladin designs, i.e. the middle.one in the pic linked below. Swap the shoulder and hop.joints to get an under slung weapons look.

Wow those are some classic mini's right there. The one you are thinking about is a Knight "Lord" as depicted in this pic:


I think it shares some design similarities to MWO's King Crab 100 ton assalt mech. There are lots of ways to import that design into Blender and bang out a 3d printable of the scale you are looking for, but man i don't think it would be cheap. You would also have to come up with your own "imperial" weaponry but that should be easy enough in blender. Just stick to general shapes and fix it up after it's printed
