So, for a while now I've had this urge to obtain either a) a Games Workshops plastic Bloodthirster (last time I looked I could get one off evilbay for about £50 to £60) or b) a dragon of similar price, size, stature and presence, as my one big model (and likely last model) purchase of the year.

To that end I've been looking for a dragon that looks along the lines of the Game of Thrones and Skyrim dragons (yes I'm aware they're actually wyverns!).

Problem is, I can't find one.

All the models of dragons I've come across (including several Reaper one's) have wings and 4 legs, so proper dragon, not a wyvern. Plus even the largest one I've seen (one by Reaper with some name I can't recall) doesn't seem from the photos of it to be really all that big and imposing like a Games Workshop Bloodthirster is. The actual wyvern models out there that I've seen are equally as woeful.

Is there a model of a dragon as such I seek out there?

Thanks in advance.

Only one I can think of (well unless you like Mantic's) is from Mierce;

Edit; Google hunting shows up a couple more that might suit;

Thanks, that Andrea miniatures one looks great, very much spot on for what I'm looking for.

But it's slightly more than 2x my budget.

I did read on a Reaper forum thread (I think), via google, that there are Italian made dragons out there that cost quite a bit, but I never found out who the poster was speaking of, I guess that must be one of them.

I think integer has hit the main ones I was going to say Mierce also. Theres a fair amount of awesome 4 legged proper dragons. But wyvern types seem to be a bit limited. Creature caster comes to mind.

Alternatively to go outside the box and into realms of conversions you might look at GWs LOTR Fell Beast
I think if you could give it a different head it could make a great dragon.

If you got some £350 burning a hole in your pocket could go for smaug

I hope ASOIF will do the dragon models. They will have my hard earned cash if they ever do!

Pegasus Hobbies makes a Vermithrax Pejorative (Dragonslayer) model. It's not too pricey.

the dragon from the Joan of Arc KS from Mythic Games that's just fulfilled is designed for a smaller scale game but it's plenty big enough to be impressive at 28-32mm too

Well, GW does have Smaug himself.

Expensive as all frak, so probably not within your budget, but it is a gorgeous model.

Dimensions are 8.4"(21.4cm) tall, 9.2"(23.1cm) long, and 5.4"(13.3cm) wide. Its a huge model.

I was going to recommend the Mythic Joan of Arc one. I saw it previewed at GenCon last year, and it made me stop at their booth just to ask.

MythicJoan of Arc would be my thought as well and when it goes to retail it'll probably be in price range.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

The joan of arc guys are doing another lick starter this fall (featuring the teutonic knights vs. Lithuanians) but maybe they will offer the dragon again?

A) That's really nice, I think the best wyvern I've seen (that isn't GW's Smaug, which grudgingly is quite nice, if preposterously priced).
B) Wow, it was only $65 during the KS??

The new Joan of Arc kickstarter is in its last day (ive or take) so if anyone is interested in that dragon, I'd go for it now.

If they hit a million USD by the end of the campaign its been teased the a wyvern will join the line up as well...
