A general thread for stuff.
Me? Got my first ever tattoo today. So it’s been a pretty chill day.
How’s about you?

True worshippers of the Dark Gods wait until their god blesses them with such marks of divine blessing. For a mouth like that Slaanesh or Tzeentch might provide such a mutated boon. Nurgle might too, but it would be more warped and festering and less orderly. Indeed Tzeentch is more likely to give such a well ordered shape to such a blessing.
Raise your hands in praise to the great Changer of Ways!

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"

Its alright so far. Concept work for a vr game....scoffing an amazing ham/cheddar/mayo sandwich...
...oh, a Spitfire flew over my house an hour ago. Literally just above the house as I had got out of my car, as if to say "welcome home, Sir!". Just wondering if its a sign for me to put in an order for a certain game thats out next weekend?
Its a perfect day outside - sunshine, but not too hot and a lovely breeze. Might go sit out side and read a bit of Clive Barker...

Had a fun night with friends last night. Got home, chilled with my wife for an hour or so. Let her know I was going to sleep in my hammock.
(Night was cool and calm. I like sleeping outdoors on nights like that.)
Had an amazing sleep. Putzed about on my phone for an hour, chilling in my hammock. Came inside, hung with my kids for a bit (they were playing Plants vs Zombies GW2). Woke my wife up, talked about dreams we had, or in my case didn’t dream last night.
Did a load of dishes. My Mom brought me her battery powered weed whacker over (spent 5 hr yesterday on yard work) so I could tidy up around the edges. She wasn’t in the mood to have a bagel with us, but I did get to show her our robo-mower in the back yard. (Like a roomba, but for cutting grass!)
While typing this up, my boys were fighting over whether or not the youngest (8) had changed the appearance of the older’s (10) character in PvZ:GW2. In a truly rare event, this escalated into the youngest getting physical (painful arm squeezing) and so I just went down and laid out the law. Both boys acknowledged that it was a stupid fight and even stupider to get that upset when either could have forgotten changing it. Given it takes about 20 seconds to change the appearance back, all the more stupid of a thing to argue about, much less be physical. Long story longer, the boys agreed there was some blame for both and that instead of resolving their issue they were being counter-productive to harmony. (That’s our in-house way of saying they were being donkey-caves to each other.) As a resolution, I asked the oldest what would be something the youngest could do for him to make amends. They usually share responsibility for putting the clean dishes away, so my youngest is putting *all* the dishes away for the next two washes.
I’ve been working on showing my youngest consequences for his behaviour. Saying “sorry” is required, but so is action to make amends. “Sorry” by itself is no longer sufficient for bad behaviour.
I’m proud of me for keeping my cool. When the boys hurt other family members that’s a big trigger for me, and it’s hard to not just punish. But I kept my poop together and harmony is restored. I’m wise Dad that resolved the issue with reason, not angry Dad that resolved the issue with “force”. Hugs all around.
I’m going to tidy up my house, feeling good about being productive this weekend and still making time for fun stuff.

Yeah, I’m feeling good about it. Being a rather imperfect father, it’s helping my average.

This weekend is my wifes family annual tomato festival. We canned 43 bushels of sauce this weekend, it’s like a military operation. Lots of work but I get home made sauce for the upcoming year, well worth the work

So I finished up the tidying, did NOT do the weed eating because it started raining. Instead, made pasta sauce with my wife for the afternoon. Since Mom is out at the trailer with Step-Dad, Grandma was by herself tonight so we invited her over for pasta.
She made up a peach-raspberry cobbler (peach-raspberry is one of my wife's favourites) and then made us some Raspberry muffins too. I picked her up, we had dinner and some chat. She doesn't drive, so we stopped by Mac's (now Circle K... but it will always be Mac's) and she picked up some smokes and scratch tickets. Yes, sometimes my day sounds rather redneck. Dropped her off, had a smoke with her, chatted for a bit, went back to my house.
Chilled for a bit, read the kids some stories, and listened to some music with the kids before bedtime.
Came downstairs, found out the new Season of Archer is on Netflix, watched a few episodes. Decided to look at what else is on... watching Dusk 'till Dawn.
I had a great day. Productive, time with family, nice and relaxed. One of the best I've had in a long time. Loooong time. Huh, the unexamined life, right?

Most good days must be bought, in advance, with crap days. I hate having a cold. I feel ya man.
Edit: One last update. Decided to sleep in the hammock again. Drifting off to sleep, I got to hear some critter going through my neighbour’s trash, ripping the bag open and, presumably, proceeding to eat something with bones in it. Interesting in a nature documentary kind of way, but listening to bones being crunched up (I assume) is not the soothing sound of nature I was hoping for. On the plus side, I don’t have to clean it up, so huzzah for the someone else’s problem effect!
Hope you all have a great day!

Well, if we look to yesterday, it was Father’s Day in this part of the world. Totally spoilt - breakfast in bed (fruit smoothie), massage from the wife, lunch with the family, some modelling time (finishing the GSC I somehow accumulated) and then dinner and family movie.
So, a pretty good Sunday all round!

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
