Aye up dakkites,
@Manoknok .. we'll see i guess

i wont hold my breath though.
@Vik I have a thing for Babel , it has appeared in some form in lots of my creative stuff over the years .. but i think your spot on with the back to basic futurist ideas ,like many episodes of startrek if i recall ...
@Baiyuan , it does sound a little like gaunts ghosts , or the dirty dozen , which is no bad thing , the idea of a group of soldiers thrown together , to survive without the discipline , sounds like a recipe for trouble . have you considerd writing it in instalments instead of the big novel.
@Weety , Thanks you weets glad you like the research stuff

, i have never seen the anime or Fritz Lang version of metropolis , i am ashamed to say
@Peter ,
Lol that post made me
lol , it reminded me of Amber's look when i used to mention
40k , now she just accepts me for what i am.. although i dare not put a name to it
And i am very flattered that the screen saver lasted so long

, i didnt like the green circle over the top
tbh.
I did what you said and dropped the liitle man and had a looksee around the uni building , the brutalist in me says many thanks ...

i do love those buildings , although i wouldnt want to live in one i dont think .
@Llamahead , Thanks mate

ACTAEON! @Monkey , welcome back to the mad house

The Irish wolf hounds from gripping beasts
http://www.grippingbeast.com/shop.php?CatID=12 arrived yesterday and i took the oppertunity to do some more reasearch on the subject

I also managed to actually paint em up and base them with the Highland moor theme i have running for the location of Praxus prime , and the Noble 9th's Hunting and Game keeping area Outside the walls of praxus prime . I used the new highland tufts and swamp tufts form battlefield scenics from wayland games ( which is closed for a few days apparently )
http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/images/uploads/warlord/Battlefieldscenics/AP-BF4127.jpg I really like the history of the Irish wolf hound and think it sits perfectly with the Noble 9ths agenda.
GELERT
William Robert Spencer
The spearmen heard the bugle sound,
And cheerily smiled the morn;
And many a brach, and many a hound
Obeyed Llewellyn’s horn.
And still he blew a louder blast,
And gave a lustier cheer,
“Come, Gelert, come, wert never last
Llewellyn’s horn to hear.
“O where does faithful Gelert roam
The flower of all his race;
So true, so brave – a lamb at home,
A lion in the chase?”
In sooth, he was a peerless hound,
The gift of royal John;
But now no Gelert could be found,
And all the chase rode on.
That day Llewellyn little loved
The chase of hart and hare;
And scant and small the booty proved,
For Gelert was not there.
Unpleased, Llewellyn homeward hied,
When, near the portal seat,
His truant Gelert he espied
Bounding his lord to greet.
But when he gained the castle-door,
Aghast the chieftain stood;
The hound all o’er was smeared with gore;
His lips, his fangs, ran blood.
Llewellyn gazed with fierce surprise;
Unused such looks to meet,
His favourite checked his joyful guise,
And crouched, and licked his feet.
Onward, in haste, Llewellyn passed,
And on went Gelert too;
And still, where’er his eyes he cast,
Fresh blood-gouts shocked his view.
Overturned his infant’s bed he found,
With blood-stained covert rent;
And all around the walls and ground
With recent blood besprent.
He called his child – no voice replied -
He searched with terror wild;
Blood, blood he found on every side,
But nowhere found his child.
“Hell-hound! my child’s by thee devoured,”
The frantic father cried;
And to the hilt his vengeful sword
He plunged in Gelert’s side.
Aroused by Gelert’s dying yell,
Some slumberer wakened nigh;
What words the parent’s joy could tell
To hear his infant’s cry!
Concealed beneath a tumbled heap
His hurried search had missed,
All glowing from his rosy sleep
The cherub boy he kissed.
No hurt had he, nor harm, nor dread,
But, the same couch beneath,
Lay a gaunt wolf, all torn and dead,
Tremendous still in death.
Ah, what was then Llewellyn’s pain!
For now the truth was clear;
His gallant hound the wolf had slain
To save Llewellyn’s heir.
and this one i found very apt
The Last Wolf
Mary TallMountain
The last wolf hurried toward me
through the ruined city
and I heard his baying echoes
down the steep smashed warrens
of Montgomery Street and past
the ruby-crowned highrises
left standing
their lighted elevators useless
Passing the flicking red and green
of traffic signals
baying his way eastward
in the mystery of his wild loping gait
closer the sounds in the deadly night
through clutter and rubble of quiet blocks
I hear his voice ascending the hill
and at last his low whine as he came
floor by empty floor to the room
where I sat
in my narrow bed looking west, waiting
I heard him snuffle at the door and
I watched
He trotted across the floor
he laid his long gray muzzle
on the spare white spread
and his eyes burned yellow
his small dotted eyebrows quivered
Yes, I said.
I know what they have done.
I am pleased to introduce you to Artemis The Noble 9ths Coursing sighthound handler. She is The only Plebian Allowed to wear the Noble 9ths Colours , as the great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great granddaughter of Leto the 1st Agri farmer to settle here She is
16th generation Praxus, Her Farming family was on Praxus long before the Noble Adalaise house or even the Voltaire family came here to plunder its riches. Trained since birth with a classical Bow, Artemis has enjoyed all the privelages of Nobility without the title. Her family is one of the most influential on Praxus and The Imperial commander keeps potential enemies close. She is currrently in charge of The commisars hunts whilst Actaeon recuperates
I found this beautifull image , that i think captures the idea of Valrick escaping the Imperial Palace on rag with Actaeons Vulgus Servant After beating Actaeon to a pulp.
