I second this. I do a Korean Sword fighting technique... and that is one of the handforms.
Obscure, but still useful.

For a second I thought you had a seizure while typing....then I realized I was in the mierce thread would love to see pics, especially the way they packaged the new stuff.

The packaging is individual baggies wrapped in bubble wrap in a plain brown box, lol. They are not using the retail packaging in order to save shipping costs. Fine with me!

Mine arrived in New Zealand this morning so they are getting the stuff out.

Confirm they are individual bags in bubble wrap. Mine came in Maelstrom "Tank" box

Come one guys!
Post some pics!
I didn't partake in the KS, but I ordered 4 of the new designs, 2 release April, then it's a long wait until December for the rest.

the troll 'Vortun' (part of the same unit as these three) is shown in the Norse section and is 104mm to the top of his weapon (about 70-80 cm to the top of the head it looks like)

Thanks! they look perfect, I'll be ordering at least 10 whenever they come out.

New WIP's, plus MM did change my order to sending things out now, very fast communication. I must admit I have been very impressed so far

I like MM's version a lot more than the GW alt, more dynamic for a start!

Plus its lizard all the way up. The GW version cheats with a belt to hide any scale transition...

GWs dragon-ogres are laughable at best. The one from Mierce looks great. Robert Chaudon does a really fine job here.

I am also pleased by Stephane Simons work with the ysian standard-bearer. It looks great! My only concern is how many figures you see standing with one foot on a stone these days.

Obviously yes - but (I guess you missed my point) no ones effective in CC.

So, you mean that no one should question a sculptor doing a sculpt like this:

when sculpting what is supposed to be an elite (fantasy) warrior?

I don't get your strange attitude.
This is a forum discussing miniatures and sculpting.
Or?

Cool dragon ogre:

I just hope the hands will be in a nice "knuckles to the front" position.

It's no different than Nurgle or Tzeentch or Skaven or Tyranid or Waaagh or Ghorgon or Naggaroth, ya just get used to it. I've looked at the Darklands stuff enough to pretty much learn all the names.

I noticed for Darklands that the races that end in '-x' are all bipeds, such as Tarvax is a minotaur, Sronax is a rhinoman...
and for my above list,

Gabrax = beastman
Drackox = dragonman
Gwyfern = wyvern
Mantichora = manticore
Kraacken = kraken
etc.

It looks like the cyclops with slightly altered head, wings, different arms, and a different waist/legs

for those of you that have started to receive product: did it say shipped in your order status on your account? Just curious, as mine still says processing.

My order was split only two days ago, the stuff available now says 'packing' the rest 'processing'.

Mine was split about a week and a half ago, and I received it today.

Received Krull (giant demon), the Terror of Fortriu (Chimera), Ungefelic (Manticore) and Ulmons, Tarask of Var.

Really really excellent sculpts. Glad I bought in for this, the sculpts are wonderful.

All of my stuff was shipped in plastic baggies, or bubblewrapped bags for the bigger items. All arrived safely as far as I can tell.

Granted, it's a club and not a longsword, but I can think of several attacks I could make from that hand position. He doesn't really need to concern himself with blade orientation, so he's got even more flexibility than that.

Edit to add: German longsword fighting also has a LOT of hand repositioning on the fly, too.

Gah. That new demon is a step backwards. The not-Cygor model was weak when it came out. Why resurrect it with what amounts to a shoddy conversion?

Paying £24 for that was a steal, considering how much GW is charging for a Shaggoth here in Australia. I am thinking he'd even make a great proxy for Kholec Suneater. I am hoping that they continue to make sculpts like these so I can avoid buying those awful GW Dragon Ogres.

They underestimated the price of this one and have said it will probably be £50 when it hits retail (not £35 like they originally thought)

If you backed the KS and wish you'd added him at the bargain price of £24 you CAN still add him to your order

Just drop Mierce an email (address on the last KS update)with your KS name and they'll unlock the KS section on their website for you again

Scale shot, this explains the estimated price increase. He is some size and will come with a 100mm base.

Some sort of statement from Mierce in light of the Maunsfeld/Maelstrom closure would be nice.

Even if it's just Rob Lane assuring us our Kickstarter money is safe :-)

Because I'd like to have some surety around separation of monies. I have received half of my miniatures but still have GBP 200 outstanding. That's why!

One of the spun-off companies - Maunsfeld Gaming - ceased trading this week. I think some confirmation around the status of Mierce would be welcome.
