So the fact that you already received half your stuff isn't enough?

Presumably not, because there's still the other half to be sure about.

Even a restatement of the 'we are a legally separated company with different assets (and a different bank account)' would probably assuage people.

Not that I was touching the kickstarter with a barge pole of course but that doesn't mean I want other gamers to be shafted.

Because I'd like to have some surety around separation of monies. I have received half of my miniatures but still have GBP 200 outstanding. That's why!

One of the spun-off companies - Maunsfeld Gaming - ceased trading this week. I think some confirmation around the status of Mierce would be welcome.

Have you actually tried contacting them and asked about your concern? They have been very quick in responding to every message I have sent.

More Wip and some bad news

Project Update #34: More WIPs, and a Shipping Update
Posted by Mierce Miniatures
Right then! Firstly, here's some long-awaited WIPs for you all...
Beowa

Beowa, you will see, is going to be absolutely superb (both man and bear form). Here's his latest WIP shots:

Unfortunately Benoît's pictures don't really do him justice, as you can probably see, so we've also given you some previous WIPs and a video! Excuse the pun, but please "bear" in mind that the below WIPs are BEFORE the one above, so there's some details that have changed since then, but they still help to show the quality.

Here's the video: http://www.mierce-miniatures.com/downloads/beowa_wip_05.avi
(Most browsers will support the playing of this video, but simply right click on the URL and download it to play outside of a browser).
Mawdred of Carn Dhu

Let's have some more WIP shots - here's a not-quite finished shot of Mawdred, but he is now finished and winging his way to us as I write:

Gríminn

Roberto has started on Gríminn:

Hywel Hir

Hywel Hir, sculpted by James van Schaik nicely, is done:

Kjartan of Jylland

As is Kjartan, again sculpted by James van Schaik. Kjartan's really characterful we feel!

Torku

We also have a fairly advanced WIP for Torku, who is looking great so far - she's being sculpted by Stéphane NGuyen van Gioi:

Shipping Update

Now that you've seen all of the above WIPs, it's only fair that we update you all on when we'll start shipping the first sets. Originally, we stated that we'd send the Brythoniaid, Fomoraic and Ysian starter sets in April, and in various places the 29th of April, but the bad news is that the first shipping date is going to slip to the 20th of May.
We're obviously aware that this is very disappointing, but the reasons are good ones as far as they can be - firstly, the dice are taking longer than we thought to produce, as are the tokens (although that is mainly because of Salute 2013, as the manufacturers have been incredibly busy getting things ready for the show); but probably more importantly, we want to include Beowa, Torku, Mawdred and Aradae Mawr with the first shipments!
It makes no real sense cost-wise and for our carbon footprint to ship the Starter Sets before Beowa is ready, simply because we have to make so many of the two miniatures - and ESPECIALLY because Beowa is over six months early! Similarly, Torku, Mawdred and Kjartan were slated for later shipping dates, so you're actually getting stuff earlier than we stated regardless. It also makes sense to combine more orders with those miniatures of course!
Note that the Norse, Angelcynn and Khthones shipments should hopefully ship on time, with the Norse being shipped as close as possible to the 20th (to combine further) if not on the 20th itself. Gríminn may also make his way into that first Norse shipment!
Please be reassured that we haven't taken this step lightly; we've weighed up a lot of factors, not least your disappointment, but we hope the three-week delay won't prove too annoying for you all.

Darklands Dice

The Darklands dice, we're afraid, have had to be revised. We originally stated they'd be kindred specific, but that's impossible at this stage for two very good reasons - time and cost! Thus, we took the view that to get the dice both on time and within our budget, we would simply produce Mierce Miniatures dice rather than kindred-specific ones. Even so, we believe they're stunning, or at least as stunning as a D10 could be - but don't take our word for it, check out the image below:
We have about 1,500 at the moment out of the 10,000 we've ordered, with 1,000 of those being white detail on black to form the D100 you'll need; the rest are being produced right now.
We hope you're not too disappointed with what we've decided, but we think these dice are really cool and we hope you do too.

Eh, I didn't really give a hoot about the dice anyway. This is a fine substitute. The miniatures, that's where they are excelling. Can't wait to get my Aradae Mawr.

Don't care the slightest about the dies either, to be honest. Griminn by Robert Chaudon looks awesome. And on the other side, I am very disappointed with Hywel Hir, sculpted by James van Schaik. I really don't like James' style, although Kjartan looks good enough.

Cynemon and Beowa and more
Update #35 · Apr 24, 2013 · 12 comments

Firstly, the Angelcynn, and Cynemon! Sculpted by James van Schaik, we think he's turned out really, really well and we're very happy with him! He's really characterful and captures exactly what we wanted from our Miercna wiglereas!

Beowa, man form is complete - check him out, Benoît has sent us better photos!

We should have photos of Beowa in bear form later on this week, if not complete then nearly so as he'll be sent to us on Friday!

Finally, he's some better versions of the Tarvax, just for Michael Caldwell! Firstly the champion, Raackanasck:

Next, the lovely Bockaaruk:

hen there's Inavaak:

Finally, Piraack:

...and, for those who wished to see Mabyon from both sides, here he is in all his resin glory:

Hope you like them!

Further updates as and when guys!

They really are all nice looking miniatures.

Have they released the ruleset yet?

If it is any good, and fun, I may have to get some eventually - especially if it scratches that "Confrontation" itch that I've had for so long!

Rules have been put back for about 3 weeks as with the initial starter set releases. I received the above Minotaurs about 2 weeks ago and they are as amazing as the pictures above.

Tarvax looks awesome. Certainly impressed with everything Mierce have shows so far. Really disappointed I missed out on these, but no one got back to me about upping my pledge post deadline. :(

Zond, did you message them on KS or via email? I've had no prob contacting them via KS messenger. And they're still letting people add to their pledge AFAIK (i just did recently)

I contacted them via KS, but alas no joy. Might try again but I fear the money has been mostly spent.

Nobody's got the Tarvrax starters yet (due to start shipping late May),

but those who paid the extra to get already in production models early could have got the 2 (?) singles that are already out

The images above were from Mierce in response to a backers request to see what (s)he had coming

Yeah I had the two Tarvax that were already released, so I just did the Get The 4 New Tarvax For Only 40 GBP deal that I added to my main pledge, so I'm anxiously awaiting the new ones.
They'll be in my Kings of War army using my Red Box Games Helsvakt as infantry and Mierce for the monsters (along with some Scibor figs too)

Oh ok so looks like a few more weeks then. I'm putting mine with some WFB beastmen / monsters / WoC stuff. I hope Mierce do some 28mm beastmen at some point.

JWBS I love their beastmen too, I have the 4 they've released already, and prepaid/Ks'ed the Chaagmuth on foot, but that's only 5 total. I believe they said they will be releasing a full Gabrax (beastmen) line after all the KS stuff is done... so maybe at the end of the year.

Wow, those look quite good "in the wild". I'm still concerned about the larger models, though, since the one I had previously (Shaaroc) had skulls that were wayyyyyyyyyy too big for 28mm scale.

Would the skulls be of the right size to belong to a Ysian Brute ?

Some could have a humanoid skull and are bigger (I think) than standard 'human sized' figures

(it's probably a sculpting issue, but that might be a get out for you)

These miniatures are amazing - I just hope that there's a good, deep skirmish sized ruleset to go along with them soon too!

The gameplay video on the KS got me interested, hence my largish pledge

Hi,

been a while - we're very busy moulding and casting at the moment.

The skulls on Shaaroc are not human - (one has horns!).

When Shaaroc takes to the field, he's after larger prey.
Many of our monsters have larger skulls (Krull is the same) as trophies. Big guy vs big guy will be a centrepiece of a battle.

Will hopefully have some resin pics of Arade Maw and Mawdred for you guys next week - in the flesh those guys are even better!

Right, back to work for me!

Tim

Funnily enough, started assembling Shaaroc last night. That is an amazing, amazing model. And those skulls are definitely not human. I immediately assume one was a demon or minotaur or something (with the horns) and the others were ogres or trolls or something. (Why would a giant beastie like Shaaroc worry about plucking skulls from humans? his pinkie finger is larger than a human skull, lol)
