My goal is to expand my deathguard kill team into at least a 1k point army, and also maybe to diversify the unit choices of my main CSM army by adding some raptors, havocs and terminators.

Oh and maybe a headswap haaren worldclaimer

My all non-Primars Dark Angels army still isn't where I'd like to have it before calling it complete, but at this point, I'm not sure I even want to get it to my original plan. I'd been planning on moving on to a new army afterwards. Depending on how I feel about the next Psychic Awakening, that time may be sooner than later.

Complete both my oldmarine-only Dark angel (just started) and finish my primaris only custom chapter. I have the model list already planned, but maybe new releases will change that.

the hilarious thing is only after I'd decided on the name and colour scheme did I find out there's a gaming pub in Vancouver named the Stormcrow Tavern. I had a good laugh.

An old friend is getting back into the game with the SoB plastics, I painted his army for him before and will do it again. I suspect that’s going to be the bulk of my 2020 work.

I’ll continue to add to my Ultras and Eldar, maybe another unit for the Deathwatch to get them a little more viable stand-alone. Short term plans is the SC: vanguard marines for the shadowspear stuff, and a box of banshees when I can get them alone.

And as always, the slow churn of moving things from the pile of shame to the to-prime pile, then the primed and ready shelf, and at last collecting dust on the display shelves. It’s an endless cycle that mostly keeps me out of trouble.

No immediate plans other than to finish painting everything I have before getting new stuff (a lofty goal that always seems just out of reach).
Got plenty of Eldar, My Marines & Chaos are pretty well complete.
I have 1500pts of combined Primaris Deathwatch & Custodes that count-as "Movie Marines". if I expand anything, it will be that

I want to round up my IG regiment and try to find a casual, nice gaming group to get my first games on.
I'm also considering shelling out for a Macharius and/or Malcador depending on my progress (so far I only painted 4 vehicles and am still learning and I don't want to buy a >100 € model as long as I'm not that satisfied with my painting skills).

I'd like to finally decide on a color scheme for my Marines (which has been tough as the last ones I had were a basic black and I don't want to do just that again, but there's no Marine painter for Mk3-4) and then at least get my HQ dudes painted.

Sisters of Battle will be the bulk of my 2020 painting - I'm planning to do 83 models for them.

I assume there will be another wave of Primaris, so I'll probably be adding at least a couple units to my Imperial Fists.

I may paint up some minis for either Descent or Dungeon Saga too once the other projects are done.

I invested Reaper Bones V, but my wave won't arrive till April 2021.

I have 9000 points of Marines and maybe 5500 of that is painted. My big goal is to get that entire pile plus my last two squads of Custodian Guard and their Contemptor done in 2020.

A quick mental inventory puts that at 32 weeks if I can keep up the one squad/tank per week pace I've been setting lately, so I don't think it's too lofty a goal.

I also own the Slannesh half of the Wrath and Rapture box, my stretch goal is to get that done as well.

What we call things matters. I named my Marine chapter after a tree, and claim that my hand-painted chapter and squad badging are inconsistent because part of the chapter's induction ritual to full brotherhood involves ingesting a hallucinogenic fungus that grows on said tree on their home world and then trying to paint the symbols while still seeing things.

(It was also my justification for never buying The Loyal 32 even when it would have been an obvious advantage. A normal human goes full-vision-quest as part of their passage into adulthood and anyone who refuses the trial is cast out. A Marine's transhuman physiology doesn't react the same way so an Initiate can never take the trail of adulthood and is treated as having died.)

My goal is to pick one thing and finish it. Sometime in 2020 I want to be able to plop down an army of all-the-way painted Alpha Legion models on the table and have a game of some description. Might be 40k, might be 30k, but there are going to be silvery-blue scaly bits involved.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

If the Genestealer Cult Start Collecting box comes out this year with the expected models I plan to go from a really big GSC kill team with objective marker bikers and a terrain ridge runner to an actual army. But that is basically it.

I plan on getting all my 2019 stuff finished instead. Which was extensive since GW updated/added to every faction I play throughout year. I don't see another big release for Chaos Space Marines or Slaves to Darkness next year like we have this year. Plus, I already have all the Kill Team factions I want. Whatever new space marine units happen to come out next year aren't likely to have the same personal excitement of the Vanguard stuff... unless shotguns and/or meltas are involved.

I hadn't decided too much, but based on my fluff behind them, I'm thinking a nice brass/bronze (almost like Minotaurs) for the PA, and then Scouts will be a grey, and I'm torn on the pauldrons, but all my HQ units will have the right one based on the tartan for my ancestral Scottish clan (Farquharson). The weapons need to be VERY rusty though which fits in with the fluff. For the tartan and the rusty weapons I'll need a VERY good painter, much better than the last guy I used.
