Quite a fun side project you have here, Dave!
I'm pretty impressed with how un-orky the bomber is. It might actually be convertable into some imperial flyer (Gasp! Xeno-heresy!)

Don't really feel like reading 260 page's worth of dakka, but I read your first page (which AFAIK is edited every so often with updated progress), and all I have to say is nice work, and you have much more of a steady hand and eye for detail than I do 
I'll try and read the last few pages and carry on from there ^^
BTW I love the steam-train walker

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Faster looking Storm Talon maybe. Out of the three I think it's the best one.

There are also two different styles of flaps to choose from, which change the look of the wing
The wing connected straignt
And this other bit, which serves three different purposes
1. Gives the wing a swept, angled up look (totally MiG Fishbed)
2. Gives a spot for another Supa Shoota
3. Gives another hardpoint for another bomb

..tryin' to tink like a propa' Ork 'ere
But I really need to decide what role this fighter will play, you really need to pick one at this point:
This is NOT a DOGFIGHTER kit, remember that, all three options for this kit are all different Ground Support craft- these can be used in regular 40k games, so no need to have an Air-Superiority or anti-aircraft plane, - you need Apocalypse units to really play dogfighting top-gun stuff
Dakkajet- The Most Shooty option:
-the pilot/owner bolts as much Dakka as possible to the plane, and is a better shot because of it (more guns means something is bound to hit) +1 BS vs. non-flyers- This makes an Ork shoot as accurate as any regular human troop BS3.
Burna Bommer-
-Dropping napalm is sooo Orky!
It can drop a S5 AP4 pieplate flamer bomb every turn, and has skorcha missles, which do the same damage, but lg. template at range
Blitza-Bommer:
This is an Orky Stuka dive bomber!
-Drops a s7 ap4 Boom Bomb, and then you roll on a table to see whether you hit the deck, causing a spectacular orky explosion, or pulled up just in time, to all of the above AND your grot rear-gunner gets to pop something on the way up!
