Does Ghaz know that Armageddon is Ullanor? Have Gork and Mork told him as much? Or is it just a strong feeling to Waaagh there?

Probably, but without knowing he knows it, as is the Orky way.

Falling back on rare and possibly questionable sources, I’m sure it was Xenos Biology (old, rare BL art book) put forward the theory that Ghaz is simply an inevitable Oddboy Leader Class.

If we can rely on that, then all his knowledge is every bit as instinctual as that of other Oddboyz.

Therefore, he’ll know Armageddon/Ullanor is important, but not why. I mean, why is such a fundamentally un-Orky question, no?

Potential fun times when the Imperium finds out Armageddon is Ullanor as well....

I suppose in the context of PA the question should be what is on the planet, it has significance to Orks across over 10k years.

You'd think the Imperium would know considering they put it there.

Only a handful of lunatics in the Mechanicum are privy to that fact.

Well they never delete anything so chances are memory card 357382b has it written down on Mars or something. Did we ever find out what (if anything) the Mechanicum looted from Ullanor?

Didn't they make like a giant, continent sized plinth for the triumph? Is that not pretty obvious on the planet?

They did, but I'm assuming that was smashed or disassembled in some way after the Orks retook Ullanor during the War of the Beast. Even after it fell back into Imperial hands, with the First War of Armageddon I could see any remnants being ravaged by Angron's rampage and the subsequent wars afterward would further drive it into the dusts of history.

But wouldn't Guilliman know? I mean, Ullanor was a major event during the Great Crusade, you'd think that he would understand the significance of it?

IIRC he doesn't know that Ullanor was Ork HQ for the War of the Beast and also doesn't know that the Mechanicus teleported Ullanor and called it Armageddon. He might notice that there's a planet where there wasn't one before but he's a busy man so even if he did notice there's no reason to be suspicious.

Dark Imperium covers this. Guilliman was unable to find much on the period known as War of the Beast, as knowledge of it was the focus of a purge later in the Imperium's existence.

Yes. They were experimenting with the Ork teleporter tech (Orks had been teleporting moons) against the orders of the High Lords.

And were ordered to destroy it.

I'm wondering if Engine War is going to link into Beast via this link.

Wasnt it revealed that sections of the Ullanor stage were being used by the Orkz for scrap? I've got alot of different audiobooks mixed up in my memory bank....

How could they use anything for scrap? I thought it was just a mountain range that was melta'd flat?

I guess maybe one of the main hives could have been built on top of it, so it's not insanely obvious from orbit.
