Hi all,
I’ve had a great idea to make a Land Behemoth as a terrain scenario, I’ve ordered the tracks however I can’t seem to find any pictures to help with inspiration. Can anyone provide pictures or details about them please
Thanks

There are no pictures. They've only so far been mentioned in Black Library books and the Iron Hands supplement.

No idea what that is, is it similar to the old Capitol Imperialis?

bullyboy wrote:No idea what that is, is it similar to the old Capitol Imperialis? Instead of having a traditional Fortress Monastery, the Iron Hands have smaller mobile ones for each company. All 10 were committed to defending Medusa during the Black 13th. By description, these things are massive, mobile cities so think of a Hive on treads covered in guns.

Mortal Engines might be a good source of inspiration. There was a movie that I didn't watch, but the books are about tracked cities wandering about post-apocalyptic Earth eating each other, and the fan-art I've seen looks very Warhammer-ish. Lots of smoke-belching baroque machinery hauling lumbering overdecorated edifices around.

What, like steampunk/dystopian Pac-Man?? That sounds really stupid.

While the books are somewhat interesting, and the film at least tried with its visuals even if utterly failing with its story, you are pretty much correct about the concept here.
Wakkawakkawakka........
On topic, this really is about the only thing i can think of to draw inspiration from.

Maybe the Shuttle Crawler Transport or the Bagger 288 for inspiration for massive land-based machines that could be the size of a board [or larger]

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades! |

They used to called Juggernauts back in Rogue Trader, and the intent was that a board would just be some part of the hull of one.
You could also look at the game Deserts of Kharak, the "Land Carrier" design is cool. Fatboys from Supreme Commander come to mind as well.

One appears in the first Gaunts Ghosts book and is again described as "city sized". However there's very little detail beyond that as it doesn't feature in any of the fights and acts purely as a command post.
Considering early lore/arts of titans showed them as being city striding machines I wonder if the earlier authors took inspiration from some of the Epic vehicles. There's a really old and rare imperial guard command unit
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Capitol_Imperialis
Which might well be the foundation for the visual inspiration. Similarly the old Squat Leviathan.

Steampunk/dystopian Pac-Man, but they've run out of dots and now all the Pac-Men are running around trying to eat each other as the world dies slowly around them.

The machine in the first Gaunt's Ghosts novel is a Capitol Imperialis. Land Behemoths are exclusively an Iron Hands thing.
