Hey everyone.
I figured I would let people know about this.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/matagot/kemet-blood-and-sand

Kemet is a pretty great board game that could be considered Risk-like with an Egypt skin. Units are kept at a minimum (at most you get 12 "troops" at any one time with some big monsters you can purchase in game as upgrades along the way. Game play is quick and games are relatively brief with nice swings in victory points possible.

This kickstarter is a 2.0 version of the game. Cleaning up and stream lining the rules and incorporating the main elements of the first versions boxed expansion directly into the core game. The kickstarter is a screaming deal in terms of price and stretch goals and at this point every stretch goal will be unlocked in the next day or so.

Get in on it if this kind of game is something you enjoy.

I’d be willing to piggyback (and lay some shipping) for the miniatures, but I’m unclear if the 25 euro add on gives you a set of minis or not. The Cthulhu add on seems like a pretty good deal.

However, I’m not willing to throw much more at this; I’m more invested in Ankh for my Egyptian board game miniatures fix.

They made a little chart in the updates for the add ons and what is included in what.

The 25 euro upgrade level is the new cards, the new power tiles, and the included stretch goals. The majority of the minis come in the original version of the game at that level. The purpose of this is to let players take the old game and replace the game elements they are upgrading or changing and play the new game without all the flashy new bit (like the new stacking pyramids. In the original game they are oversized d4s.

The 69 version is the whole 2.0 game which includes all the miniatures.

You can see the savings in that chart.

So, do the “bags for players and monsters” include miniatures or not?

Good thing you warned me about the old school pyramids being D4’s. I was tempted.

I imagine the bags do not include miniatures. I got into the Kickstarter maybe 5 days ago so that stretch goal was long before I came along.

I think it was there to include more organization in the box then what is normally there. Individual army bags instead of a single bag for all armies. Separate monster bags for the different power tiles that provide them instead of 1 big bag or no bag for the monsters.

I could be wrong about that but that was my impression. Granted, 10e seems like a lot for that. So I just don't really know what the deal is.

I guess I’ll wait for retail.

Right on, though like I said right now it's a pretty extreme discount (as kickstarters tend to be). For 69 euros you are getting 141 euros worth of crap at retail. ::shrugs::
