I've seen lots of threads arguing about how evil GW are and how they will only manufacture about a dozen sets worldwide before they take all the good models out and double the price.

But ignoring any of those issues, does anyone know:

What time does it go on sale in the UK?
Will it be able to be pre ordered through GW online?

There is no sign of it or news of it on the GW site, even though all the articles about it on other sites say it goes on sale today for 2 weeks before shops begin stocking it?
I am new to this world and board DI straight off the shelf a couple of years ago, I rarely play 40k and only with my daughter, for me it's all about the chance to paint those beautiful new figures and the finally feasible and functional looking bikes.

Pre orders usually go up at 10am.

A lot of people will have pre-pre ordered with their local gaming stores.

Yup. Pre-orders always go up 10am on Saturdays.

If you don’t manage to bag one online, try your local GW Store on 25th, which is the release day.

Some German shops just put up the article in their web store with the description "pre ordering possible from 11am".

So in 5 minutes. Some are already down due to the increased traffic.

Edit: Aaaand the German GW site is down for maintenance as well now

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)

Well that was a timely post by me then, thanks guys.

Just don't understand how the GW site is entirely devoid of any build up for it.

I know this hobby self hypes but seems weird. It's as if all the other sites are making it all up and GW are going, "Indomitus? What's that? I have no idea of this thing of which you speak"

There's loads of hype, it's just concentrated on the Community page.

I've known that GW would be listing these on the 11th at 10am.

However, I am curious;

I live in the US (Arizona to be exact).
For those who select USA on the GW website, will they be listed at 10am my time, or like.. New York time, or what?

Do they track my IP or something?
NY is 3 hours ahead, so I can't help but wonder if I will see them listed at like 7am.

It generally goes up noon EST, so that'd be 9am?

Expect the website to crash based on other regions! Gonna be a rocky one.

So I just checked the UK store and it's sold out. Also, the boxset is 157 US, 125 GBP. Not the 200$ people were reporting!

It's $199 USD, multiple stores has confirmed. GW doesn't use actual exchange rates

Now the pre orders are up, am I right thinking we need the Core Rule Book and Chapter Approved: Grand Tournament 2020 Mission Pack and Munitorum Field Manual just to play a matched game?

1pm Eastern and 10 Pacific.

They sometimes get listed on the webstore ~10-15 minutes earlier, so right around 12(9 Pacific):45 to start checking.

I think the CA2020 GT 2020 Mission Pack will be enough. Looking at its table of contents, it appears to be a condensed version of the core rule book with no fluff and only the essential things you need in a game.
I'd wait for a video review to be sure, but it appears to be the case. Basically a mini core book.

That would be great, as paying for lore that I already know is annoying. Just gimme rules.

Good spot!

It's hard to read but I think it says...

"In this section you will find the basic rules for Warhammer 40,000 battles reprinted here for quick and easy reference should you need them during your battle. This section dispenses of the need to have a separate copy of the Warhammer 40,000 Core Book on your gaming table."

Thanks!

Not on the GW website they haven't,which was my point, no mention of it at all. You would have thought it would have been on the site with a preorder date shown. Not just suddenly put on there at 10am.

I appreciate they don't need to but for those of us that don't cruise other forums regularly, you wouldn't know.
I generally don't look at anything other than what's in the store so my only knowledge of it was searching following a Facebook ad.

I don’t use the community I just buy stuff in the shop. I want to be shopping or painting, not talking about it.

I mean fine, but if you want hype that's going to be in the bit of the website where they actually talk about stuff.

The GW "community" pages on the GW websites are just articles GW puts up. There isn't any talk or discussion, its purely information on upcoming releases, tidbits of lore, photos of products, release dates. Heck every Sunday the update shows the pre-order items coming for the following Saturday.

The community chat tends to happen on the facebook pages where those articles are linked too, though in general its more quips and comments like a twitch stream rather than detailed conversation.

Anyway I think you actually need to look at the GW "Community" section https://www.warhammer-community.com
It's basically got all the hype and info you're looking for.
