Just read the article on the community site only mentioned lokhurst and skorpek destroyers. Did not link to current destroyer models, every other unit mentioned linked straight to webstore. Pretty clear this guys are bye bye due to the green rods. Not to sad as the skorpek are great and the lokhurst is too. Still a shame to see a classic unit consigned to the dustbin.

Yeah they literally showed the new gun-version destroyer model in one of the preview images with the green rods being replaced by the new...carved up rod thingies.

Yet another Icegoat thread resolved with a single response! Hurrah!

It's still possible there'll be a lokhust destroyer (as well as the lokhust heavy destroyer already shown), the article leaves that pretty open.

Was that the one they were commenting on the size of its jet thrusters? Or was there another one?

Either way, as long as I have a flying destroyer with gun option in the list I'm good.

A greater loss is one of the tomb canpotek from fw is now listed as sold out :( I was going to get one once they were back in stock got to hope now that the other one does not vanish as well.

As for destroyers the greater surprise is that gw is still selling the old design at all. Pretty much everyone expects to see them go either fully (sadly) or to be replaced. We already know thr new heavy version so who knows a new light might be just aroundvthe corner

This'll probably give you an aneurysm or something, but I'm still using a squad of the original metal jet-sled riders from the WD days of the army.
And I'll keep using them until flying destroyers are no longer a thing.

Given the revelation of the "Heavy Intercessors" I'd say it's a given. There is still a Skorphek model not yet revealed that looks to me like it's a Skorphek Cryptek.

The article also alludes to their being two type of Destroyer lords.

I have been of the opinion that for a while all the green rod stuff was going away, though it looks like that may not be the case for the regular destroyers and old destroyer lord. It sure will be interesting.

I think we just haven't seen the new destroyers yet.

Old destroyers have green rods. And old destroyer lords/heavy destroyers are fine cast. Finecast and green rods are dead.

Forget the destroyers, why is it so hard to find a Necron Ghost Ark? On E-bay, I only see about 3-4 available and everywhere and Miniature Market doesn't have any. What the heck is going on?

Gw is running 2-3 months behind with reduced staff during a new 40k edition release. And Necrons just got a big release

I think you need a better term than "old destroyers". Because GW has never made my old destroyers in Finecast & there're no green rods involved.

Ok so to clarify the only floaty destroyers will be lokhurst big gunned big thrusterd destroyers. The skorpeks will have melee variants and ranged variants weve all seen the pics. Old destroyer lords, plastic destroyers and heavy destroyers will be gone bye bye consigned to legends no longer useable in matched play . Whether we ever get a new floaty destroyer lord is up for debate I reckon maybe one day but not yet.

Or, more likely, since GW mentions a gun destroyer lord in their most recent post, there is a new kit we just haven't seen yet that includes at least a gun destroyer lord and maybe a not heavy Lokhurst.

Whether of the Skorpekh or Lokhust variety, Destroyers work exceptionally well in conjunction with one another – even more so than when in the presence of both their Lords for re-rolls on hit and wound rolls of 1.

I know that OLDER destroyers exist. But again, in the context of my post, which one has green rods?

It'd be nice. But flayed ones are finecast too. We'll see.
Someone over-reading an article for information that isn't there fails the standard of evidence.

Or, more likely, since GW mentions a gun destroyer lord in their most recent post,

The current destroyer lord gets a gun by default- the staff of light.

(Where's this mention, by the by?)
