So some recent necron stories hint at a new weapon that basically seems to cut people off from the warp utterly and makes humans so lethargic they jut collapse and eventually die.

I was wondering if they defined what it was because i wonder if it's actually a weapon meant to stop tyranids. Something that completely blanked out the hive mind, made tyranid communication impossible, etc. Imagine if nid hive fleets got into a system them BOOM! All contact between them was cut off, their ships could not communicate, coordinate, etc.

ALSO no communication as to what was happening reached the rest of the species, they have zero idea what happened to the isolated fleet so they can't analyze and adapt to it.

Yes, I'd imagine even isolated nids would pursue instinctive behavior and require mopping up, but with no communication between the hive mind and units, no organization, etc, they are effectively crippled as a force.

So far we only saw this effect humans, which is kind of strange as orks are more numerous in the galaxy. But 40k is a anthropocentric game after all.

Tyranids would certainly suffer, but after a while they'd likely adapt to preserving Genestealer cults and throwing them at such a foe since, whilst they also rely on the hive mind, they've more genestealers and operations used to operating without a hive mind in direct control. Many of their number might not even be mutated yet so there's ample scope to retain control.

Granted they are human though so the Necron weapon could still pose an issue for them.

The endgame for necrons as always been to fight the immaterium, even in old fluff when they went to stasis during the big enslavers attack of the galaxy. It's more a weapon against Chaos that happens to look indeed super powerful against tyranids too

They have had different endgames throughout differrnt times, and probabky more then one. One of their main ince was defeating the old onse. Eldars and orks are stil around so you can not check that box just quite. Reversing biotransfer was a big one. Shutting of the warp seems to have been prioreties at points. Reclaiming the galaxy in their image seems to be another. These can bleed a bit into each other. Also, induvidual necrons probably have different opinions on this.

Well, it’s currently the background that The Silent King encountered something out in the void.

Now, I cannot remember if it explicitly mentions Tyranids, or if that’s just the commonly accepted interpretation.

If so, it’s seems likely TSK already had an idea how to tackle them, using Blackstone?

Far as we know its Tyranids. It should also be noted that it seems he went out, saw them and started racing back, but was beaten by the Tyranids. So chances are he missed the smaller tendrils that have already hit the Galaxy and has seen the "motherload" or a much vaster tendril coming.

There has been old theories that Tyranids aren't alone in the void and that there might be others. Some even proposed that Tyranids weren't just feeding from the void but could be the servants of some greater power or even fleeing their own predator that hunts them. It would be a huge twist to learn that Tyranids are the "cows" of space; grazers and that there's a far more deadly predator out there.

That said far as we know lore wise the only thing to come from the cold void (in any number) is Tyranids

Would necrons and nids clash much. Nids won’t want to break their teeth on those metal skeleton

Yeah, the Tyranids would certainly prefer to focus on stuff they can actually eat. The Necrons are unlikely to just leave them alone though, especially the ones that operate on "purge all organic life" logic.

What Tyranids can and cannot eat and what they choose to eat varies a bit in the lore.

It also varies on the situation as its seen Tyranids seem to currently favour fast eating on the readily digestible biological material on a world. This gives them a fast injection of biomatter and denies the world mostly to their opponents so its an effective feeding strategy.

That said older codex have shown them to eat and digest minerals.

I would wager Necrons likely fit into the block that Tyranids would evolve a means to consume the material, but might not do so unless they found a pressing need to do so quickly during war times. Otherwise they'd more likely destroy them and leave the bodies fallen. Provided they stayed fallen once the world was taken, Tyranids would simply move onto the next fastest food source.

Personally I figure that Tyranids are not jsut feeding. They specifically target worlds for invasion and are clearly aiming to remove the most powerful resistance against them. Remove that and they can then feed on the Galaxy at peace without wasting biomass fighting. So they currently go for easy and fast meals.

It might just be a weapon designed to fight all psychically sensitive species.

It isn't a new weapon, it is an expansion of the already quite well known null field matrices. You may have heard of the Cadian Pylons, the most famous example of this type of technology.

It is also not perfect, it failed to stop the 13th Black Crusade and it failed to stop the Imperial Crusade into the Pariah Nexus.
While definitely useful against the Tyranids, I doubt it is an insurmountable obstacle for them.

Also, not all Tomb Worlds are dead worlds. Angelis from Gorkamorka, for example, is home to both Orks and Humans.
