I recently decided to pick up AoS and I'm looking to start Flesh Eater Courts. I'm currently planning to start with 4 start collecting boxes, the endless spells, and the Channel Throne terrain piece(may skip the throne for another box of flayers or ghouls). 2000 points is kind of a place holder, with the shopping list I have I should be able to build stuff and still have things for summoning. I'm thinking of doing either Gristlegore, Blisterskin, or going custom and taking feast day. I already know I'll be using 1 AGK on Royal Terrorgheist and 1 AGK on Royal Zombie Dragon. Then probably using the other 2 behemoths as unmounted Royal Terrorgheists. I keep reading conflicting articles about which is better Crypt Horrors or Crypt Flayers. I'm leaning more towards Flayers since I know I'll be facing Kharadon Overlords, so getting into combat quickly will be important. I won't be playing super competitive tournaments, but would still like to play and not lose every game lol.. Any help figuring out list building would be greatly appreciated!

You have this mostly figured out already! At any rate, to provide some specifics:

-Get the throne, it costs no points so you are giving up a free advantage by not having it.
-Get an Archregent to sit on said throne, have him summon a free Varghulf Courtier or 20-man crypt ghoul unit. Then cast support & endless spells (mounted GK almost always prefer to cast their warscroll spells over anything else).
-Convert said Varghulf Courtier by sticking daemon prince wings on a flayer. If you are running the dragon lord you may want two so he can summon one as well.
-Go Blisterskin. For one, flayers are better and blister makes them battleline. Two, it provides an artifact with a large bubble of -1 to hit against shooting. And the command trait is fantastic too.

Sidenote, there are only four units you will summon in FEC:
-10 crypt ghouls (off AGK on foot)
-20 crypt ghouls (off Archregent)
-3 flayers (off AGK on Terry)
-Varghulf Courtier (off Archregent or AGK on Dragon)

The other three courtiers are strictly worse than the Varghulf. The only reason to take them at all is for battalion requirements, otherwise they are inferior.

Horrors have a place in a list proper; they a bit worse than flayers all things considered but they aren't bad either. However when summoning neither unit costs any points, removing the horror's advantage in point cost and making flayers clearly better.

So how about something like this?

If you are using Blisterskin give Terry the Eye of Hysh (required artifact) the Archregent the general with Hellish Orator (required command trait), and go with a different mount trait for the Dragon as you have a command ability to redeploy from blisterskin anyways. Use the spare points to get a AGK on foot, he can stand next to the throne and summon 10 ghouls for free then run around and play support. Alternatively you could fill the gap with two options from the chalice endless spell, buying an extra CP, and a 10-man ghoul unit.

With everything being fast, and the artifact being only a 6 inch bubble, wouldn't I want the artifact on one of the mounted GKs?

Indeed; I use "Terry" as short for "AGK on Terrorgheist" so we are on the same page there.

Ah that makes sense. I didn't have the book on me and read it as Terry the Eye of Hysh, is given to the Archregent
