Anyone know any good 3rd party companies one can purchase plasma and melta looking guns that work with Tempestus scions? Or has anyone had any luck using the space marine plasma guns you can buy from GW? Because what I’m not sure about is how scion models have the hands built into their weapons and the arms stop at the wrist and how well that would look. Or if I’m just going to have to use green stuff for the left hand onto the guns.

I don't know about scions, but I was able to get open hands from guard Lasguns relatively easily.
I did a tutorial and everything

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The Victoria Miniatures plasma rifles look like they would fit well using Flinty's tutorial.
Alternately you could buy some of their arms too and just cut off the hand. The arms themselves look noticeably smaller on a GW figure so I wouldn't use the whole thing.

I can't remember the name of nor find at the moment, but I do recall something that I think is exactly what you are looking for. It was some third party mini maker that had a bunch of weapons, but they made the hands unattached so you could pose them however you want. You would simply heat the hand a bit and then wrap the fingers around the chosen weapon and it would mold the palm to make a perfect fit in whatever pose you wanted. The hands were from the wrist, so you could easily attach it to any model you wanted. I'm pretty sure the weapons would come with the separate hands for attaching, but I think you could also order just the hands. They probably also have Plasma and Melta lookalikes to fill that as well, which would come with the proper hands. If anyone remembers the shop before I do, toss us a link, both for the original poster as well as anyone who comes looking later with similar interest.

The way the arms are molded to the rifles makes it REALLY tricky to change their base weapons. I wanted to do the exact same thing as you, but in the end I used some of my spare plasma pistols, cut the barrel off the rifle and added the end of the plasma pistol to make what sort of looks like a plasma carbine. Doing the same with the muzzle of a melta gun, and maybe slapping the little melta-tube thinging from a meltagun on the side of the lasgun would probably be really easy to pull off. If you're curious about my results, I'd be happy to show a picture of them, once I get home from work. That said, I only gave 4 scions this loadout - because of the way one of the hands is positioned (pretty far down the barrel of the lasgun) I think all 5 would be really, really hard.

Well, I still can't find the one I was talking about, but if you don't mind making some adjustments or having entirely third party arms, Anvil Industry makes some great gear. https://anvilindustry.co.uk/regiments-specialist-weapons#/pageSize=6&viewMode=grid&orderBy=0
They are meant to fit into their own arms, but you could carve out the rifles on the Scions and fit them. Would probably need a bit of green stuff to fill any gaps, but it should work.
