In the warp, searching for Marbo

I was thinking of starting up a squat army using 3rd party/3d print models. I was just wonder, which codex would be the best fit for them?

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

Depends upon the models you're using.

The vast bulk of my own Squats can be run as Guard units.
Round them out with Guard vehicles with Squat crew.

But for my bikes/trikes/exo-armor/Living ancestor on bike(well sidecar....)? Codex:SM
Bikes: Scout bikes
Weapons trikes (mostly MM): Attack bikes
Exo-armor: Terminators
Living ancestor in sidecar: Librarian on bike - not at all concerned that it's a Legends unit.

So I'd simply run multiple detachments.

I’d go Chaos Space Marines. Light infantry, heavy infantry, super heavy infantry, fancy vehicles, bikes, weird flyers. Got it all.

If you go tyranids or necrons it leaves scope for loads of awesome big mech creations.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

In Warp Transit to next battlefield location, Destination Unknown

According to the lore they are Abhumans. So I would say that Astra Militarum would be most appropriate.

Cowards will be shot! Survivors will be shot again!

I'd vote for Tau, here me out.

Squat Thunderers as Firewarriors, shooty and tougher than ordinary humans.

Sentinels or some steampunk walkers as Crisis Suits.

Artillery as Broadside suits

Gyrocoptors as various hovertanks.

Land Trains as the giant mechs.

Kroot as Bezerkers.

You get an army with a mix of shooty infantry, scary artillery, huge stuff, fast light skimmers and light close combat troops. It's not perfect by any measure but I think the best of the options out there.

I'm praying that the rumor of the Squat codex being true is not just wishlisting. It would seriously make my 2022.

Wouldn't Orks be best rules wise? But they are basically just Guard, so wither IG or Orks to better represent the models (They had bikes, trikes, Thudd Guns, very orky things) but they also had Mortar Teams and Guard guns.

IMO tempestus scions would be best.

They're tougher and more skilled than normal guard and carry more advanced weapons, which reflects the difference between guard and squats fairly well.
