For instance, did the FW Tau datasheets update after their codex dropped? I am mostly asking considering the tyranids. They lack the keywords tyranid needs to be legal.

Also, the barbed hierodule could really benefit from nost costing 100 points more then the exochrine, for 3 wounds more and a worse gun. The Scythed hierodule stil holds up compared to other melee monsters, but would kill for a Cleave option on its weapon, like the other big scything tallon monsters.

Not soon enough.

I realise that the Codex isn't out yet, but boy do I want to see/not want to see the updated big 'Nid beasties.

They are so putting them back in LOW...

Usually not long after a codex is released. The Imperial Armour Compendium is very much a "work in progress". And boy, does the Chaos section need a lot of work......

You will (probably) get updated keywords.

You have a snowball's chance in hell of getting any form of Quality of Life change beyond that.

Until they half-ass their 10th edition Imperial Armour Compendium to choose the next edition's Forgeworld Winners and Losers Club.

Have any other datasheets gotten any beefier update during 9th edition following a codex release?

Tge funny thing is most competetive tyranid lists rocked the forge world monsters long before crusher stampede was possible. And now in the new codex arguably the forge world monsters are a bit bad in comparison.

Funny maybe, surprising, no. The moment GW main studio took control of rules it was inevitable.

Custodes got the Katahs added, couple units got Damage boosts to go with the Codex Units getting them, and all but one model got the LD11 boost.

So, I wouldn't discount QoL updates out of hand.

The fact there are separate books for Forge world still them seem not mainstream or official. Roll them into the damn codex already.

This makes sence for the end user. But it is a very different beast for the internal freedom of the forge world team I think.

It would make sense if the forge world team still existed to have internal freedom, instead of being subsumed into GW's Rules Design team and their... unique... approach.

GW doesn't want them in the codex because they're still seen as "other", the models aren't even allowed in many GW stores.

As for updates, typically they don't get anything - just updates to keywords/abilities that "broke" with the new codex.

Take Tau for example; a heavy railgun (designed to one-shot full titans) is now less powerful than a regular railgun, but they didn't update it.

They didn't update it yet....
They may, they may not. But they don't always do things synced with codex releases either.
So you just wait & see.
