I've always wanted Johnny Pegleg, not sure I'll get him, but he always had that illusive 'character' other models don't.

So what are we figuring, $35 a dude?

Or maybe it's a set for $150?

I note the Blood and Dark Angels dudes come with the cloaked backpack.

That in itself is somewhat tempting, as whilst the models remained available for a decent while, that backpack didn’t - and all 6 came with it originally, if memory serves.

They brought back some old Eldar characters at $32 so I'm going to guess that $32 is the amount they've decided an old $10-15 model is worth. I do baulk at that but prices of everything over the last 10-20 years have increased so much it's kind of just wild.

They did. My Captain Short Sword has that nice cloak. I'm surprised that some of them don't.

@Abdykp - Now they may be ugly, but compared to most of the models at the time, they were pretty amazing. We've been spoiled by great advances in sculpting and mould making.

These may be released in a catalog prior to release of 2nd edition (I have no way to verify). But I wouldn't call it RT era. RT is mostly the mk 6 armor in general, while mk 7 was mostly considered 2nd ed. and never saw any players with this style during this time period. Except, may the SW model, I know they got a codex and models before 2nd ed released.

If they were out in 1991 they were Rogue Trader.

IIRC this was the point GW was transitioning from Beaky Marines to Frowny Marines and also when they were establishing the 'big four' chapters has having different historical looks instead of the same armor but painted different colors.

Late Rogue Trader, the Rogue Trader of the Battle Manual, but RT nonetheless.

I was just thinking the other day that I really don’t have enough captains. Powerfist guy is tempting. He’s the one they re-did as Cpt. Centos a few years back.

Mark VII armour was introduced in mid-1990 – almost exactly half way through RT's 6-year lifespan – so this isn't strictly accurate. Pretty sure these Captains were introduced in late '90 or early '91, but they were definitely around by mid-1991, as the Blood Angels Captain was used for the original incarnation of Tycho in the studio Blood Angels army from WD139 (July 1991).

I just finished stripping the paint off that Captain, though I don't think he came with the original weapon, unfortunately - got a Sternguard combi-weapon I'm going to give him as a replacement, though.

I still have one, including the original weapon, it is stripped but needs the weapon pinning as the joiner broke during diassembly. It doesn't have the original backpack with standard though.

It's a shame it is so small compared to Primaris, otherwise, I would paint it up.

Well, they're too small to use them outside an Oldhammer army, but they're nice detailed models nonetheless.

I still have the Dark Angel. Maybe I use him as a nifty statue. Especially he and his UM and BA brothers look very statuesque.

I have two of these, which I have been working on to get a "true scale" space marine. I completed one, but I found its pose a bit static, so I am doing another, with a... Tactical rock...

I do admit I kinda fell in love with the sculpt, its very 2 dimensional but I managed to pull it off I think.

Wait, I thought squats are being squatted so squattly that squattening will squat them from range, never to squat back, even the squats that were only semi-squatted (rotating squat minis)? Not bring back the squats no one asked for unprompted and for no apparent reason? At least that's what Dakka told me last 5 years

Protip - if you want cloaks, find nearest DW player. DW kit has 1 extra back with cloak per 5 marines you only use for officers so usually you have some spares. Or, for primaris variant, BT players, BT infantry kit has extra cloak you can throw on champion so anyone building big troop squads will have spares too.

Oh wow. I thought I'd seen every obscure old limited edition sculpt, but this one, I had no idea it ever existed.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

$35 a head, even worse than I expected.

Yeah I like Captain Pegleg but not more than a steak dinner with red wine.

Ouch. I would have loved to get the Ultramarines one, but not at that price. And the metal itself is not that expensive. I can get a multipart metal dragon from Reaper for that price.
