Oldhammer style but done nicely enough to appeal.

I love 'em. They're the 2nd Edition Squats that never were...

I do like them, broadly, but they seem very expensive to me. :( They're about twice the price of e.g. Kromlech's "Dvergr" space dwarves, or Hasslefree's "Grymn" space dwarves, both of which are by very well established companies and artists, and will be with you in a few days rather than having the risk of a KS.

They look great, and I'd have already backed if there was an STL option.

...can't exactly say that I understand the appeal, especially in light of what we've seen from GW for the LoV so far. Then again, I've only been around since third edition, so I missed the first iteration of the Squats. But I'm glad that you vets will have access to models that that you enjoy! Must be nice to see someone fleshing out the faction's original design space.

Holy Homage, Batman - even the advert looks like it came from a WD from the late 80s.

Not for me, but as others have said it is nice stuff for the intended customers.

The models are great. but the advert is really fantastic - They've nailed the 90s look perfectly

I also wish they had lasguns since Squat warriors lost access to bolters in the 2nd edition.

Was there a 2nd Edition Squat codex? The only list I am familiar with is the one that was printed in WD for Rogue Trader rules.

They teased a codex that never came out.

However in the big second edition boxed set, there were army lists for EVERYTHING (including Electro Priests and Adeptus Soritas years before they got models). Squats are in there but I don't recall their wargear list off the top of my head.

According to the Black Codex they were armed with a Lasgun, Laspistol, Frag and Krak Grenades, and were wearing Flak armor. One could take a Special or Heavy weapon.

Their entries are fairly underdeveloped, so it's not hard to imagine that if they had received a codex they may have had expanded options.

Yeah, they had lasguns by default in the RT army list, but could all swap them for bolters.

These are designed by Curis of Ninjabread, correct? He's a great painter, I didn't realise he'd expanded into sculpting, but these look brilliant. He loves old Rogue Trader/2nd Ed 40K stuff from the looks of it, and these fit right in.

*Those* are Squats - GW's rubbish attempt to sell unrelated mediocrity with the name doesn't even come close.
£30 for the squad is a bit steep, though - but I'll keep my eye on them.

These are nice, but I'm quite upset that I missed out on these:

I abolutely adore the style, but the size and price is off for me.

$60 shipped for 5 Squats is just too much, especially if 3 are the same pose.

Left to right: (top row) Macrocosm, Mantic, Ontos, Heresy, Olley's Armies,
(middle row) Citadel, Iron Claw, Ontos, Citadel, Forge World,
(bottom row) Nico, Citadel, Ontos, Citadel, King's MInis.

Also, I think I pointed this out elsewhere, but -while I might be nitpicking a bit- having these squats be even smaller than the originals is a bit of a misstep.

Eilif, I agree. On the upside I DID place a Macrocosm order for some space dwarves after seeing them mentioned on this Kickstarter. So there is that.

My squad finally disembarked their postal drop pod today. I must commend the manufacturer on the excellent casting quality of the pieces.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
