The world is out-of-whack in lots of ways lately, to put it mildly. With shipping costs up but the dollar up as well, I thought I’d ask if anyone in the states has found it cheaper to buy any company’s miniatures from Europe rather than from an American retailer.

I myself found one: I was able to order some Stargrave metal minis directly from North Star Military, pay for shipping to the USA, and pay for the conversion fee (tip: compare Paypal’s to your bank’s - PayPal let’s you chose which to use, but doesn’t show your bank’s rate to compare them,) and I still paid less than at Us retailers, including the cheapest one for Stargrave metals I know of, Badger games.

Not astronomically less, mind, but less.

Any other good buys (better than buying from USA retail, I mean) for Us customers looking to import?

A while ago I got some good deals ordering Dropfleet Commander stuff direct from TTCombat. I haven’t checked the exchange rates lately, but I have a feeling shipping has gone up enough to cancel out any savings.

Sarissa Precision has great MDF terrain and some pretty reasonable rates to the US. You can get some smaller stuff sent for only 5 pounds.
