I was looking at some N scale terrain and I think I'd like to fight scourge vs shatari in this little 50's town:

The Scourge Mega vs Large+piecemeal is a 68 Pound savings, assuming you get the squad of Minders shown in the pic that isn't listed on the page.
Edit:
Shaltari is 33 Pounds for the Mega
UCM is 41 if the Wolverines in the pic are included.

Yeah there are plenty of decent model railway buildings out there which are suitable, the prebuilt stuff from woodland scenics is a rip off though. However the rest of their range is available for a very reasonable price ($20/£13ish for a decent sized basic building).

A little on the pricey side, but nothing obscene. I'll be picking up some stuff for 15mm gaming (The Scourge worms, walkers and tiny flying things will make interesting aliens) and the prices are not too out there. I doubt I'll bother with the actual game, but the models (Especially those mechs) will no doubt find a home in games of FUBAR or Gruntz.

Depending on the size of armies that are to be used in this game, I might consider picking it up. If the army set deals are any showing it maybe about $200-$250 for a full army? A pretty cheap game overall.

Price is good. A Poseiden is $30 - and its about 5 inches square - the size of a landraider basically, and half the price. Now, granted, a GW vehicle kit is great value during the construction and conversion process, and I don't see the poseiden as quite as good in that regard, being simpler due to the scale.
You get a figure about the size of a space marine for $7-8 bucks as a walker. That's about twice the cheapest plastic GW figures, but its in resin. Its half what you would pay for finecast. You also have units of 4 models, not 10 - and roughly the same number of units.
The $350 AU price comparisons were pretty telling. While I like the DE box set, its barely enough for a small game. The DZC mega deals appear to have pretty much everything you would ever want.
The only price that offends me is the infantry, actually. You're paying more than a dollar for a shaltari brave - barely more than a cm tall. Still, its not that bad compared to bitz prices, really.
I'll probably start out with the rules like most, but I will check out a model or two when the warstore has them. I may also scratch build some stuff, as is usually my wont. UCM dropships in particular are expensive, numerous, and not that cool looking.
It will probably be a while before anyone is playing in this part of the world, but a lack of patience has never been a virtue in a miniatures gamer. : )
There were a few units I hadn't seen before, like the Shaltari gunship.
I really like the fluff, although I will agree the writing was not the best (although easily as good as most wargame text) The UCM stuff made a great deal of sense. The low observable tanks with the driver lying down are brilliant. The lack of chainsaw wielding crazies is a welcome change. I like the Shaltari fluff especially.

I'm liking this more with each figure I go over, the website may have taken time and I suspect still has a few tweaks (many people have commented some of the deals don't match the pictures) but I'm interested. My only problem will be finding other players, I can see me buying 2 armies, which is going to get expensive. I may have to make the decisision DzC or 40K this year.
I would agree with many on here however it will have to await the rules. I would love to see a PDF with the basic rules on and a few units details to give a flavour. However I can see me buying a copy of the rules and units details and proxying some old Mechwarrior Hero Klix stuff for a play.
That said the guy must be mad, this is a one man labour of love! I dearly hope this works for him, I am a little envious of his energy and stamina! Kudos!

I wish they had something more about rules or army composition than what the FAQ has. I'd like to know why the PHR starter has four Type-1 walkers, while the large and mega are primarily Type-2 walkers.

Type-1's are the real workhorse, there are more of them available then type 2's since type-2's seem to be upgrades of type-1's.
Another reason is that if you look at these army wise a starter army is what a new commander would be given to use in a small skirmish where he/she could prove their worth. I am also thinkin of points wise as well. The army deals seem to have a varying amount of models that equal around a certain point value.

Non-Europeans might be interested to learn that I just got word from Maelstrom Games that they will be stocking this game.
This is important for two reasons: One, they have free international shipping for anything over ten pounds. And two, they've currently got a 20% off sale for non-Europeans.
Once they're up, I'll be getting a pair of Enyos and a pair of Taranis.

Good, then I'll wait and order the rulebook from them. If the rules are good there will follow a big order of lovely miniatures! Any word on WHEN they will stock it? From release day and on perhaps?

The army deals look well constructed. For example, at first glance it looks annoying that you don't get light dropships or walkers with the Shaltari, but due to the way the gates work, that is a good thing. Although a large portion of the shaltari force is unarmed!
