The great fear here is Leto is the evil boss at the company Adam is working for and only turns into Skeletor for the final battle while still being a major presence for 90% of the rest of the movie as himself.
so far i find it interesting enough that i'll probably try and give it a watch
but as i saw pointed out elsewhere, the fact they gave zero skeletor dialogue is suspicious at best

With any luck, the voice will be dubbed.
I mean, he was cast and filming before the credible accusations of not just being a crap and creepy actor, but also an Actual Wrong ‘Un were made pubic.

how dare you cause me to imagine the possibility that they just dub over him, maybe with mark hamill

Enough with the Jokers! They simply aren't skeletor!

Special effects can and have changed between the teaser and the finished film, especially in films heavy on the effects. I wouldn't worry about what the effects in the teaser look like.

If Leto's mysterious Hollywood benefactor that keeps getting him in stuff told me that my masters of the universe film has to have him in it, I think I would also maliciously comply by putting him in a body suit and mask so no one knew it was him...
It's strangely the only movie that I want to see in the theaters so far this year.

Like say... Skeletor?
You correctly identified the joke.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
The trailer has that air to the script that makes it feel like the lead is constantly looking at the audience/referencing the 4th wall. Not openly like in Deadpool; just a feeling that the character knows they are a character kinda.
Granted that could just be the trailer and the choice of scenes; but it feels like it.

I would hope so, considering Gwildor was portrayed by legendary actor Billy Barty (all 3'9" of him) and not CGI.

Mate. Even AI slop character is preferable to Leto clagging up your movie.
Now, I know Hollywood Accounting is a thing. And outside of Tinseltown you can do a The Producers and profit off a flop.
But Leto now has a solid legacy of flops. So much so that surely to cast him is to instantly invite the taxman to have a proper ‘no stone unturned’ delve into your accounts.
And with any luck? Induce a sea change in tax code laws to prevent such objectively dreadful, talentless hacks being used so blatantly to drive away an audience?

But he has delivered once or twice though. Dallas Buyers Club and American Psycho were both really good... I heard rumors people liked the last Blade Runner movie too!
