So far I figured using some necromunda bits may work, but I'm a bit at a loss as to the helmet. Any suggestions?

If you can track down Junker sprues from the i-Kore VOID 1.1 boxed sets (they pop up on ebay from time to time), they are perfect.

I bought some when it first came out and that's what I use them for.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

You can still get Junkers new, not sure if they are the kits you are refering to though, but they got riot shields

I tried sculpting the 2nd Ed style pads on plastic Scouts and that worked pretty well. I made a pushmold of a classic Arbites head and shoulder pad winged-fist.

No, those are the metal ones. In the boxed set they had multi-pose plastics with different weapon options (including riot shields).

What I did was combine that with my bits bin to fill out all manner of troopers, including some CSMs. I was able to create a bunch of differently equipped squads, some with riot shield and the shock baton, others with swords and pistols, etc.

I really like a lot of the VOID 1.1 stuff, and most of my Eldar are actually VOID 1.1 figures.

Of course, part of the reason for that was that several stores went under right after the game shipped, so I picked up a huge windfall on the clearance rack.
